Is it high rise, mid rise or low rise?

527s are more towards a low rise. Lower than 501s which are mid

What does boot cut mean ? Is the jeans wider at the ankles ???

Yes, bootcut are wider at bottom of leg (to fit over a pair of boots). As opposed to levis 501s which are same width all through leg. 527s also have a lower waist line than 501s for reference
