BEWARE: NOT A GENUINE RED JADE
The Red Jade tea is a name of the famous Taiwanese cultivar # 18 tea that has a distinct flavor and a bold taste. I buy my Red Jade directly from a farm in Taiwan. I decided to try the Yan Hou Tang Red Jade since previously I bought a very good small teapot from them. What can I say? Not only it is NOT a Red Jade, but it inot even a BLACK tea at all. It tastes like oolong (dong ding, heavily roasted). The Chinese characters do not identify a farm, and the packaging is generic. It does say "black", but it does not even mention #18. Beware! NOT RED JADE!

Horrible!
Update: The seller shipped 4 other flavors of high mountain tea for me to sample. I hope to be able to like the JinXuan tea out of the four. So far, I only had a chance to sample the half cooked Taiwan high mountain tea. It is ok and should be good for those who love the half cooked/roasted tea. I mailed the rest of the bag to my 72yrs old mother; she said she loves that half cooked Taiwan high mountain tea taste. So I might order some more for my mother in the near future. I personally like only the uncooked/not roasted tea. So if you are like me who only likes the uncooked raw taste tea, the half cooked might not be a good choice. I will update more in the future as I get to sample the other three.I have been an oolong tea drinker for 25 years. I love the raw oolong tea or lightly toasted ones. Have been buying high quality oolong tea from a reliable tea supplier from Taiwan for 20 years. A week ago I decided to look into trying another supplier. Seeing the item description and the fact it states it’s organic, I decided to give a try to their “uncooked” tea. My excitement was soon be brutally killed by this horrible horrible hardly any taste tea!!!!!!!! If I could give no star, I would! I’m so ashamed that a tea shop from my native country would have such a low grade tea claiming to be fresh spring tea when in fact it is actually tasted like expired tea, tasting like over and over reheated veggies.... Yuck! Wondering if all of their other tea are just as bad now....?

Good tea
I am a big tea drinker, and coffee, too. I have possibly 10-15 different coffee and tea in the cabinet at any given time. So when I saw this, and that it was from Taiwan, where it is known for good tea, I thought to give it a try.It arrived well packaged, and the actual package looks very presentable. If you were choosing this as a gift, it would be perfect. Sadly, my wife had the first drink while I was at work, but she did tell me it was pretty good, so I gotta try. There are two different types of tea, rolled or just plain roasted. This happens to be plain roasted (not rolled) so I tend to put a little bit more. Now, people would argue the best way to have tea, for me, I use a French press. I don't drink coffee with it, but tea and tea only. It allows the tea leaves to have a chance to fully relax, and unwind, thus, give you the full favor, or the lack of.This tea smells somewhat sweet, just a tad. But when you drink it, it has a very full-bodied taste, and not too sweet. I prefer to have my tea "as-is" meaning no sugar no milk (though, my wife like to add milk, and I tired it, it was good), just plain tea.Overall, I think this tea is really good, well worth the price and also the taste. It is good for your own taste as well as gifting, since the season is upon us.Oh, and if you like, I suggest to do a second round, but cool it to make iced black tea, it is of course lighter, but gives a totally different yet somewhat familiar feeling to the tea.

Light Refreshing Tea
I used to exclusively drink tea vs coffee 20 years ago as coffee had a heavy flavor. Recently, after being very sick with Covid, I went back to tea mainly for health purposes. As a green tea drinker, who is rather frugal, I would buy the "name brand" teas which never really had that nice deep bouquet of aroma and flavor that my favorite asian restaurant green tea had, I had also tried to get a nice roasted oolong tea but the quality was not consistent. This oolong green tea, though not roasted is really pleasant. no bitterness and plenty of flavor. A very enjoyable tea I look forward to drinking in the morning.

The Real Thing
I'm a Taiwanese Oolong drinker. I go there once a year to get the real stuff directly from the farm. This past February while there, I decided to get some "red tea" from Sun Moon Lake. I got the No. 18, "Red Jade".I liked it so much, I drank it all in a couple of months! Since I wasn't due back to Taiwan until next year, I decided to search Amazon, hoping to buy something close enough. This one tastes and smells 90% like the real thing. Kudos!

NOT Sun Moon Lake (Ruby 18) black tea
Heads up, folks: this is definitely NOT the Sun Moon Lake / Ruby 18 tea that so many people love. I've done side-by-side taste comparisons with the Real McCoy and this tea is nothing like it.It's not a bad tea, it's just not what it claims to be. The flavor is pleasant, it's like a cross between an oolong and a black tea.If you want Sun Moon Lake, go elsewhere. If you want a tea that still tastes nice, sure go for it.I give it one star because it's not actually what it's supposed to be. Otherwise I'd give it 3 or 4 stars.

NIce packaging.
Oolong tea has many grades and flavors. You will have to find the one you like and can afford. In Taiwan, you can get fairly good oolong for about $10 per ounce. $5 per ounce is still drinkable. But you have to buy it from wholesaler. This oolong tea has a nice package. The tea is marginally drinkable. I'd like to try more expensive ones from this vendor since I do like the way the tea is packaged.

This is Good Quality & Good Tasting Tea
The media could not be loaded. This tea has a light flavor, chocolate with a hint of earthy smoke. Overall a mild flavor that I enjoy. I uploaded a video showing how I brew it. I didn't show that I always pour out the first Brew. And you can Brew the same way I did multiple times in the same container. I like to drink some tea while I sit at my desk and do work or play video games LOL. That's a nice relaxing way to get some caffeine without the harshness of coffee. I drink mine straight but if you wanted to add sugar or milk this to you and also tastes good with that. I will most likely be purchasing this to you again it tastes very good.

sehr gute qualität
The media could not be loaded.
