Good Bark for Phalaenopsis Orchids
Used this to repot some phals and they definitely seem to like it. It's well-draining and leaves lots of space for healthy root growth. It's a big bag which was great for the price and the pieces of bark were fresh and not dusty. They're of a reasonable size too, not too big and not too small. I probably wouldn't use this for oncidiums or dendrobiums unless I had mixed it with smaller pieces of bark or perlite though, as it is very well draining and in my climate those orchids do better in more retentive mediums.

I'm thinking yours is just a different batch a different week or month or day that it was produced and everything can't be exact so I really don't have a better answer for you.
