These hooks are great! I use them mostly for catfishing and they are perfect. These hooks are SHARP right out of the pouch. I have not lost any fish due to the fish dislodging the hook with these. They are a bit hard to remove from the fish's mouth once landed, but it's not too bad.

Beautiful hooks. Work well for circle hooks.I just need to use them more to get how to work them down right as I'm more used to j hooks.

I purchased it long while ago. And test it out on pier fishing, surf fishing & boat fishing. Works great for those species with large mouths. Specially when you use alive bite. Fish on, stay on.

Bought these on sale, and they're amazing. If you've been on a charter boat in the Gulf of Mexico, you know they use circle hooks for reef fish (like snapper). But it's difficult to find the hooks that they use; a hook where the eye is large enough for doubled 80lb mono/fluoro to pass through, and is also a thick gauge (3X), and is also small enough for vermilion snapper (beeliners). Well, this is it! I like to make my own rigs, especially when going out for beeliners. I'll make one with 4 to 5 dropper loops and I'll use a loop to loop connection for the hooks onto the dropper loops. At one end will go a barrel swivel, and the other has a surgeon's end loop to hold a big weight. It's never failed, and is overkill for vermilion. But I know that if a grouper or amberjack is hungry when I'm reeling in, I'll be able to land them too! I use the 3/0 for beeliners, 2/0 would work great too!

I used these hooks while fishing live bait on a tuna trip in Southern California. They are super sharp, sting, and lightweight, and as all circle hooks, they end up in the corner of the fishes mouth providing a solid hook-up. Since the opening between the point and the shank is a little narrow and the point has such a pronounced bend, they do take some fidgeting when trying to hook across the nose of a sardine. I do think that this also makes it tougher for your bait to get off of the hook though.Go with a variety of sizes since you don't ever really know the size of the bait you will be using until the boat gets to the bait pen. These hooks do tend to run smaller than similar sized J-hooks. I used 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 for yellowfin fishing.

I'm using these hooks for King Salmon fishing. This may appear to be excessive but not IMO. I've fished crankbaits that lost fish because of stock split rings and hooks. All my split rings, treble hooks and these circle hooks are saltwater strong. Don't waste your time with regular wire anything for King Salmon. These fish will shred it!! Hook, set and enjoy!!
