I have several Catalyst cases that we use outside during sporting events, often in the pouring NorthWest rain. These cases have worked Great! The cases have stood up well to the coaches and staff tossing them and dropping them during games and the iPads have stayed dry. We had one minor issue with one, and Catalyst support resolved it quickly and easily. This was product worked well for us!

Besides looking good, the case is very functional. It is waterproof, shock proof and (in my case) child proof. The only issue I have found is the lightning adapter port is a little tight. Everything seems to work just fine and plug in. They are just tight getting in and getting out. I have converted all my electronics from life proof to Catalyst cases.

This is literally the only waterproof case available for a 2017 iPad 9.7 inch. Because of that, it's clearly overpriced at $129... supply and demand. But with no other options to protect my new iPad for boating / navigation, I had to go with it.The first thing you'll notice is how much extra bulk this cover adds to your previously slim iPad. That's not a bad thing for its use, however... more thickness to grip on to. The foam rubber coating also helps make for a comfortable and confidence inspiring grip. The fit around the iPad is precise and tight, all the buttons and ports line up perfectly.The full front membrane is a good and bad thing. Good in that it inspires confidence that your iPad is sealed from the elements. Bad in that there's a membrane between you and the touch screen. Unlike similar cases for phones (i.e. LifeProof) that fit snugly against the screen, there's a noticeable air gap in the middle section of the membrane. This is probably unavoidable for a screen of this size, however, it makes for a touch experience that's just not as nice as touching the bare screen.The included "adjustable stand" is about as flimsy as can be, I don't expect to be using this very much. Also for $129 they couldn't even provide a wipe for cleaning the iPad before installing?So decide for yourself. If you need protection for your 2017 iPad 9.7 this is the only game in town. It does feel solid, and inspires confidence that the tablet is sealed from the elements. However, the air gap under the front membrane is less than ideal, but probably unavoidable.If it cost a more reasonable $40-50 I would give it 4 stars.

This is a gift so I can only review the initialWater testing and installing. Water test went well, assembly was easy and seems well made. I’ll return to finish the review after my nephew uses it a few weeks

I have this case only for a month so far and the bottom plug in hole already broke. So now my case is not water proof... I am going to return this case and hope life proof makes one for my I pad... a very poor design cheap knock off of life proof case.

The screen scratches easily and the case is very hard to put on. The port plug is loose and that makes it completely easy to get waterlogged. It is chunky and hard to hold, aGrip attached to the back will need to be purchased in order to hold it comfortably. Otter box makes one half the price that works just as well. I hate that I was disappointed in this case as I saved $ to purchase it.

Got the case today, did the waterproof test that it recommended and it leaked water into the inside of the case. I have reached out to them, per the instructions, and will update the review as this progresses. That said, for a $130 case, having to spend time dealing with this is not optimal. If their response is good and respectful of my time we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.12/2/17This continues to get worse. They responded and are asking me to fill out a form, and perform another waterproof test and video it and then send it to them. Sorry, but I don’t have extra time to be doing quality assurance testing for them and filling out extra forms. This is not a good customer experience as it shows they put their needs first before the customer.12/3/17This continues to get even worse. They didn’t answer my questions, they didn’t read previous emails an made incorrect assumptions, and then asked me to do more work for them. This is after they sent a faulty product! So far, bad product, and even worse customer service! As of right now, avoid this company and their products.

This is the best case out there with all the protection, function and style without being to bulky. I have a “catalyst” case for my iphone as well and it is holding way better than any other “waterproof” type i have tried thats what made me look for this case. Fantastic product !!

The Catalyst case does not protect your iPad - it inflicts damage. I fitted my iPad into the case once when it first arrived so there has been no taking in and out of the case. When I removed my iPad this week for the first time I was dismayed to learn that it now has permanent scuff marks all around the front bezel and also fairly deep scratches on the back - all caused by the Catalyst case. The marks and scratches have ruined the resale value of my iPad. In addition to that, the screen cover of the case is made from a thin plastic material that marks far too easily - inevitably it will get scratched and once it does this expensive case is effectively useless. Overall, a very poor buy that will ruin you iPad.

Good product, price is high but we needed something that was water proof.

Over priced for the product, flimsy little plastic stand. Would not recommend.
