TROPICA - Tiger’s Jaw (Faucaria trigrina) - 40 Seeds - Cacti / Succulents

Bought and sowed in February this year and happy to have germinated 38 little tiger jaw succulents.I used cactus soil for these, microwaved the mixture to sterilise the soil. Pre soaked the soil mixture and let the excess run off. Planted seeds directly onto of the soil (do not cover).Placed the pot in a plastic zip lock bag and left under a grow lights. Seeds began to germinate after 4 days and continued to germinate up to a month.As soon as 70% of the seeds had germinated I un wrapped the pot and left under the grow lights.I continued to keep the seedlings well watered by water ever 3 days not allowing the soil to dry out.On the 26th June I decided to do an emergency repot as they became very crowded.Amazing seeds give them a try, they have been very fun watching them grow.

I sowed half of the seeds in fibre pots and the other half two weeks later in plastic pots, both in propagators. The ones on the plastic pots germinated 100% after two weeks, those in the fibre pots have yet to germinate. The conclusion is that the fibre pots lose moisture too quickly and it is hard to maintain a consistent level of moisture and humidity. The seeds are obviously excellent and I am looking forward to a good crop.

I set the seeds as soon as I received them and they have all germinated within 4 days so no complaints at all . They arrived in a reasonable time considering they are dispatched from Germany and I have ordered several times from this supplier with good results so I would certainly recommend them .

Absolutely brilliant, clear planting instructions, I put them in a plastic box with a lid, one from fruit and veg you get in the supermarket. Kept watering, kept on a sunny warm windowsill. They all sprouted now. I am so happy! Absolutely worth the money.Update: every single one germinated now and it's only been a week or 2. Do my trick with plastic cover, you won't regret ....so much fun growing those

Only one single seed has germinated from a whole pack. There's still time so I will return in a week or two and update but so far not looking good. The split rocks they sell are much more viable seeds. But gutted about this as trying to teach my daughter all about these.
