Value for money, easy to install

So I bought one of these that was 18" for the center of the room and this smaller one for the ceiling light off to the side. It installed okay, it's nice and bright, and it connect to the app just fine.It was at that point that I discovered that of all the lights I've bought on Amazon that connect via Tuya, all the bulbs, all the fixtures, etc., this is the only one that does do colors on the main light. It has a few different values for white balance, but that's it.That means that I have to make scene workarounds for mood lighting because this one can't comply and in fact Alexa "breaks" when you try to set a color on this light and just says it can't do that, and any other lights in the same scene are left unaffected as well.It works okay, but I do wish that it had been called out that you couldn't set this light to just any color like all the other smart lights I've come across, but only to four or five pre-set white balance settings and that's it.

I love this light! It was super easy to install, and customize. Of course since it's SmartLife/Tuya based, that means you can integrate into Home Assistant (and other home automation systems) to infinitely customize and automate your home.It's great to have a remote for when you have guests over, but really, not used often. Most of the time, it'll be my phone or one of the automations that turns this thing on or off.Not bad for the price. It's vibrant, and the colors are an added bonus.

I'm a Vine reviewer, but paid money for this unit because the day my Kitchen light died, nothing suitable was available on Vine. Let's get to it...Needs:Bright, LED, daylight color temp, dimmable, unobtrusive modern design. Check on all counts.Wants / desires / nice features:- Smart light able to connect to Feit Electric app (a/k/a Tuya Smart) so I can turn the thing on and off remotely, set automatic schedule, timers, conditional on/off, etc. Check.- Night light mode. Check.- Cutesy colored RGB LED ring of light pointed up at the ceiling, so if I want ambiance, I can play with it and make pretty color disco lights. Check.- Hand-held remote control. Check.- Adjustable color temperature, in case a weirdo who doesn't want daylight temp buys my house some day. Check.All kinds of nice features, and meets basic requirements, why not five star then?First, the unit I received was obviously a return, box flaps a bit torn up, bag the remote was in had a strip to seal it but was not sealed, etc. I honestly don't care about that. People return stuff for 1000 reasons, doesn't mean it isn't new and in good working order.Much much more importantly: even though this thing installed effortlessly, setup was painless, connection to my app was immediate, all these things only happened because I have installed/repaired/replaced literally hundreds of light fixtures, know how my app works and what it needs, etc. If I'd never done so before, the instructions provided would not have helped, they would have made me wire it incorrectly for a start, which I imagine is one reason this unit might have been returned.It's not just the "Engrish", with the usual misspellings, and weird stuff like the labeling on the picture of the remote calls the "brightness up" button "Brightness Increase" and the "brightness down" button "Luminance reduction", which is weird but parse-able.Using Engrish, they tell you to wire the fixture hot wire to the building neutral and vice-versa. Not good. Not smart.So to sum up: Yes, it's a good light, so far, installed 2024.01.21, and if this thing dies in less than five years I'll probably be ticked off enough to come back and tell you.Good light, LOUSY instructions.If you know what you're doing with wiring, go for it. If you're a novice, invite over a friend who knows what they're doing. Always put your phone on a wireless network that ONLY connects in the 2.4Ghz band if you plan on pairing this with an app, Alexa, what have you.
