Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Black 0.3mm - Pack of Six

Just found these recently. I typically write with a Monteverde fountain pen, but when I'm not, I'm using one of these. OVERALL: Deep well, even flow, make very very fine marks on paper (larger than a well made drafting pencil and very close to 0.1mm, but without the bleeding issues). Does well upside down for quick jotting. No real frills, though I have found the clip being nearly flush with the top of the cap keeps it stay put when clipped to bag/shirt/pad/etc. GRIP: Lightweight and the rounded triangle grip was a bit concerning at first but I've become fond of it - to my experience it keeps my hand high enough up on the pen that my writing can be very precise, but not so much that my fingers wind up on the page smearing everything or obscuring my view of the page. Moreover, if I need to scramble for one in a bag or satchel, the grip makes it instantly recognizable. INK: vibrant blue (as some blues resemble black...I hate that) and red. Easy to read. VERSUS COMPARABLE PENS/MARKERS: Won't bleed like an ultra-fine Sharpie on more porous papers; will write most places that other markers (Royal Langnickel 0.1mm / 0.5mm) or felt-tips won't. Idyllic mix of an ultra-fine Sharpie's write all/most places with high quality felt's accuracy. Though it lacks erasability, I'm chunking my Pilot Frixxions for these as well as (and to the same point) using the fountain pen less. CRITICISM: Nothing of real substance to put here, though it won't write on high gloss surfaces like a ultra-fine Sharpie (or prismacolor), but will certainly write in places that ball, ink/gel, felt-tip pens will go. VERDICT: Best practical day-to-day writing instrument where a pencil is inappropriate and precision is a must. If your penmanship is more like an architect than a doctor, $9 for a six pack would be a steal of a deal at twice the price (NOTE: these come in a polypropylene sleeve - NOT the hard plastic snap packs the retail 4 packs come in). Highest marks, highest recommendation.

I've had people with expensive designer pens try to steal these from me! Glides beautifully, dries instantly....absolutely no smudging! And they last forever....I got through one every 5-6 months or so with every day use. They are long, ridged and thin which makes they very comfortable to use. I've been buying these only for years and am totally satisfied.

These write so well! Love the fine point. As a lefty it really writes nicely. Smooth movement, nice feel in the hand makes writing a new experience. Forget the computer and phone start a journaling adventure again with this pleasurable pen!

I love this product! I use it EVERY day in my job. It does not bleed through paper (normal print paper) and has a fine tip. I love the color variations also and have several different colors I use.

This pen has been my go-to pen for over five years. The writing experience it offers is consistently smooth, making it ideal for note-taking, journaling, and even sketching. I appreciate how effortless writing with this pen feels. The pen itself is slender and long enough to balance well in my hand, and the ink does not bleed through paper, even on thinner pages. Love writing with them. They run out of ink pretty fast. That's the only drawback.

Excellent pen! I have had mine for years and they continue to perform wonderfully. The triangle shape is comfortable and keeps the pen exactly where you set it down.

When I first opened the package I was a little worried I had received a knock of product but after using them for a couple of months I can happily and confidently report that in my opinion they're 100% genuine. I initially worried they were fakes because they were not packaged in a Staedtler box like in the image on the product page. I'm guessing the seller bought them in bulk and packaged them in the generic packaging they arrived in. They work just as expected and I'm still using my 1st pen after a couple of months of taking tons of notes so the longevity is the same as I've experienced in the past. I do wish the ink was archival and not water soluble since it takes a bit longer than archival ink to completely dry. Also if you spill liquid on a page the ink will run. It even runs some times when I use a highlighter before waiting the extra microseconds till it's completely set. That said I knew this would be the case when buying the pens so it's something I decided to live with to get the things I like about them. Those other things include a surprisingly long life span compared to other pens I've used, the triangular pen body which really makes long writing sessions more comfortable with less hand cramping and finally the pen nib's .3 diameter is the ideal size imo. With a .3 nib you can write incredibly small but still very legible notes and unlike even smaller nibs when writing it feels like the nib is the bigger size (.7/.5) most pens use. I've also noticed pens with nibs that are smaller than this often have trouble transfering the appropriate amount of ink, especially during long writing sessions. Finally the cost per pen combined with their lifespan makes it a more economical own than others I've used. I do miss the archival ink in the Japanese pens I used to use but the trade off is worth it. Just remember if you're coming from a pen with archival ink be aware of these pens water solubie ink. Overall - Highly recommended.

It is my love since last 10 years. In India no body spend money on writting but this brand has unique quality nib, which gives you an amazing hand writting. If your handwriting is good, it will make better definitely.
