It was a difficult decision for me to find a replacement for my previous fishing vest; however, I am very glad I chose the Gonex Fly Fishing vest. Thus far, it has exceeded my expectations. I was looking for something lighter, cooler, more comfortable, and with plenty of storage options. While there were quite a few options available to purchase that I'm sure would have met my needs, they were all met in this particular brand and at a very reasonable cost. As a disclaimer, I have only used the vest twice, so all of these statements are based on my initial use and observations. If any of them change, I will be happy to provide an update. Having the option to use the zipper or a quick release buckle to secure the vest is definitely a plus, and as a bigger guy, it really adds to my comfort level. It is lightweight; however, with the multiple storage options available on this vest, the amount of tackle you choose to stow can obviously add to that. The vest seems to handle the added weight very nicely, and I think it's perfect.In closing, I am very happy with this purchase, and I would recommend this vest to you if you are on the fence about the cost, comfort, and provided features.

Plenty of pockets to store flies, leaders, float liquids, tools and whatever else you may require for a full day out fishing.It fits comfortably and is easy to use.The price is definitely a bonus for the great quality.

This vest has a TON of pockets. Pockets within pockets even. I thought I had found them all, but then I found a couple more when taking the vest off again. It's pretty crazy. I don't know that I'll use most of them, but it will definitely be helpful for carrying my equipment and flies. The rod holder loop is helpful when tying flies onto the line, etc. The mesh makes it nice and cool when out on the water too. I can't speak to durability yet, but I like this vest. I've been looking for one for a while now and this one fits the bill.

This fly vest is awesome! Tons of quality pockets, very adjustable, I can wear it at 6 foot 2 ". And my 12 year old 100 lbs son can wear it. This has the quality of an orvis or sage but inexpensive! Love it! Way to go China you finally got something right!

Having all the pockets in an accessible location is the best part of this vest. It's also very comfortable and easy to adjust even standing in the water. Thinking of buying another as a just to have a backup.

This turned out to be better than expected. So many pockets and zippered slots. Looks great, and is extremely functional. I highly recommend this vest.

This is my first fishing vest so I don't have anything to compare to. It is handy and convenient though, particularly when I'm wading in the middle of the river.The vest is made of a polyester canvas like material, durable enough to not easily rip. The back however, is a lot of mesh, which may snag and wear down sooner. It does keep the back cooler when it's warm out though. The vest sits higher up on the chest than I thought, feeling like a half vest rather than a full body vest like a life jacket. The many pockets make it convenient to store pre-tied gear and little organizer boxes of tackle. However, you do need to find your own boxes that fit in the pockets. A well loaded vest can replace a sling bag or backpack and is more stable to open and close when fishing mid river. It is a bit hard to clean though when you get some fish blood, mud, or smell gel on it and will get grimy gradually.

This vest was a gift and recipient was pleased with functionality and complimentary fishing tools attach very well.
