Great Starter Camera
The camera is perfect for beginners. I use it mainly for video, and the image quality is spectacular, the Performance, focus, and speed are all great. I haven’t done a durability test yet, but it seems to be pretty sturdy. The battery life is unfortunately the biggest downside, and would greatly benefit from an extra external battery. But overall great camera, but don’t buy the kit lens

I'm laughing
I bought the R50 as an inconspicuous tiny camera for taking pictures of friends without putting them in the crosshairs of a big honking EOS R6. Over the weekend I took photos at a big outdoor banquet. My goal was to get lots of photos of people's wonderful faces - they are a good-looking group. I got the R50, in part, to extend the range of an EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II out to 300mm at the far end. Despite my unfamiliarity with the autofocus system (I also use an R6), the photos I took with the R50 were wonderful. I do minor processing in LR (Denoise mainly, with maybe an Auto adjustment), then save as 16-bit TIFFs and run those through Radiant Photo, with small adjustments there. I feel like I've gotten away with something illegal or at least immoral, producing great-looking pix with such a tiny camera on the big bazooka pro lens. Besides, it makes me smile when I put the little tinkertoy camera on the 70-200. A very cute, and VERY able successor to the M50, which was a great camera in its own right.

Amazing little powerhouse but lacking
Amazing little camera however I took one star away for it not having a proper hotshoe mount and because the controls are so cramped and not that comfortable. It's a great little camera but I would definitely spring for the R10 instead if I had to buy it again. Battery life is excellent for it's size for photos for videos not so much. The screen is really nice and bright and it's great.

Beautiful camera
I’m a pro photographer and I just added this camera to my kit bc it really is so simple to use and checks all the boxes for my non work stuff. I feel like I can easily get a beautiful image out of this and the simplicity keeps my focused on composing the shot. The video stuff is nice too, although I’m not a huge fan of HDR PQ and all the hoops you have to jump in order to edit the image. I end up just shooting in neutral and color grading accordingly anyways. For basic stuff the image holds up, then again I don’t really push it beyond basic correction and simple color work…seems to take my LUTs well, which is surprising.
