It is interesting to me how I have a clock on my laptop and a watch on my wrist and yet, when I AM in my office, I like to look at a clock to see what time it is. With the redux of things in my office, I realized I only have one fairly small clock that fits in so much as to almost be camouflage. Finally! A place to pull the trigger on ordering this clock. I really love the statement it seems to make (not that I AM so much a fan of Dali) about the relativity of time.So...objectively if you look at it sitting on my desk, it looks very much like the photo.Subjectively, it is almost the polar opposite of my other camouflage clock and others notice it. It makes a statement for sure. I was a little disappointed because in the photo it looks like it is metal. It is plastic that looks like metal. Also, the face of it is plastic as well. I suppose with that the good news is that if I drop it most likely it will not break. It did not come with any instructions. It was fairly easy to figure out how to put the battery in. I was a little perplexed about the stand it comes with. I AM pretty sure you can't hang it on the wall. And it can't really stand alone, it has to have something like a wall to lean against even with the stand.Anyway, it definitely keeps time. I also love that it is a nice statement piece.

My husband loves time, clocks, watches, alarms and etc. I have been searching for "meaningful" trinkets and lately I found a few that were really personal. It's like Amazon knows what and when you are looking for something and 97% of the time, what you need/want . This time they had this melted watch which is even cooler in person than in the images. Even when I took the images, Amazon's images came out better. I put it on my floating shelves in my living room. When my husband saw it he was so surprised and happy that I had found something that he liked. I always try, birthday's, anniversary's etc... I can never get it right. lol... This time for no occasion at all, I found this. It is very light in weight, but looks heavy duty, it tells the time good and correctly. It is very silent, and it comes in silver and gold, I ordered the gold but somehow it looks silver anyways. Which could be the lighting shining off giving it the glow of both colors. We really enjoy it, especially my husband. The quality is nice because of how unique it is. I give that lots of value. I do think it is worth buying, and it is def worth the value of the money for this piece. Thank you...

I got a similar Dali-inspired lock a few months ago and love it. So, I got this one to take to the office. I love it although it is definitely not made from very high-end materials. It is plastic all around, which is fine by me to be honest. The price is right for this piece in my opinion.Dali's work The Persistence of Memory is a timeless (pun intended) masterpiece in my book. While clocks are supposed to be sturdy, solid and perfect timekeeping devices, Dali's melting clocks drive the point that time can "run" away like sand through one's hand.The product comes with a stand (see picture) that easily snapped into the bracket on the bottom part of the clock. AA battery is needed for this clock. While I wish that plastic in the face of the clock would be non-reflective to make it easier to read the time, it isn't a problem that would cause me to deduct stars off.

The melting clock effect on this plastic timepiece is well executed and very entertaining. After leaving it my office for over a week, it was unanimous, everyone liked it. The internal battery powered clock does a reasonable job keeping time, and to be honest, if was a few minutes off, how could you tell? The dial is funky and gives you an approximation of the time, with some practice.
