Salter EK2613 Go Healthy Electric Soup Maker, 1.6 Litre, 1050W

I love this soup maker. So much easier and quicker than using saucepans and a liquidiser, not so much to clean up afterwards either.This is a brilliant little machine, just a bit bigger than a standard kettle and looks quite neat sitting on my kitchen worktop. I didn't know what to do with the electric cord at first as it is not fixed to the machine, but now I just fold it up and thread it through the handle at the top, so it's always there ready to use with the machine.I've only used the smooth & clean settings so far, not used the chunky or the blend yet. It's not too noisy when it starts to blend the soup, but it is a bit noisier when it does a clean, but I can live with that. All the soups I have made with it have turned out great, enough for 4 standard sized soup bowls in each mix, which I freeze. Got so many different flavours in my freezer now as I just love using the machine. It was always a chore before to make soup.The only gripe I have with mine is that it doesn't bleep at the end of the soup making cycle, or maybe I'm just turning it off too soon, as it says to empty it out straight after its finished so as not to burn the bottom, I could just be a bit too anxious about it burning. It does bleep at the end of the clean cycle though.The instruction manual is pretty good and has a few good recipes in it. As I said above I absolutely love this little machine.

Excellent product. Comes with clear instructions, cleaning tools and a recipe book. Just chop ingredients, add seasoning and stock and in around half an hour, your soup is ready. It makes around 800ml which is plenty for four people. Or you can decant , refrigerate and serve the next day. I have tried four of the recipes and they are all tasty.

The soup maker is pretty good, blends well and cooks the soup thoroughly. The only thing which is annoying is that the lid can occassionally lift up when it is blending, meaning the programme stops and you have to restart it. This is less likely when you fill the maker more toward the min line than the max. However I do use this often and I would recommend for the price.

Love this kitchen accessory. So easy to use and makes great soup in around 30 minutes. Have recommended to so many of my friends. I was initially concerned that it was too large a capacity for one person but it is fine, just keep finished product in jug in fridge.

Chuck all the ingredients in and press the button - several simple tasty recipes in the booklet that comes with it - and delicious soup 30 mins later. This was the case for the first four times I used it and then it started to malfunction badly :-/ Started just boiling soup without any blending , despite always being on 'smooth' soup programme. 30 mins switch off time also not working therefore just boiled away until I noticed it had been going on for too long. I tried various ways to prevent it from malfunctioning, checking the levels very carefully each time as instructions note that soup must be within max and minimum level lines; also making sure all the ingredients were chopped up small, all to no avail. Food always burned on the bottom, as it is not non-stick and was always a nightmare to clean - in fact, I could never clean it properly, even after the 'clean function' and soaking it and scrubbing it. I intended to give it a rest and try it again but didn't for a while and now 'return' option for this item has ended. I bought this soup maker as my friend was raving about it so I bought the same one as her a week after she bought hers - only to find that hers had started to malfunction in the same way after a couple of weeks too. Shame - it was handy while it lasted.

Having put off making the decision to buy another gadget that would probably go unused and end up in the cupboard I finally gave in and bought this soup maker. I can definitely say it will NOT be going unused or be left in the cupboard!!! So simple to use if you can't be bothered to cut up veg etc buy some already done add stock cube and water leave in the soup maker for 25 mins while you can be doing other stuff and there you have ready handy home made soup Best Buy this year
