The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast

Everything I needed for my first Daniel Fast
I was seeking a guide for my January Daniel Fast. I got the book in December and read through the early chapters right away. I like this book because she has lots of information, devotionals, suggested menu plans, and recipes. Everything I needed to have a peaceful fast. Her words are thoughtful, encouraging, and positive. I focus more on what I can have instead of giving the enemy fuel to focus on what I cannot have.I didn't want to focus on food, but as I am not a good cook, I knew I would need simple, delicious foods. This book made that happen. I am actually spending less time each week planning meals and a shopping list. We have tried several recipes and all have been great. Even when I thought we did something wrong with the Baked Oatmeal it came out great. I messaged the author on Facebook and she kindly answered my question and reassured me that we had done right. Her suggestions are great for modifying some favorites (ie Oatmeal with unsweetened apple juice and raisins - yummy).Favorites recipes so far:Baked ChipsBaked ApplesBaked OatmealRoasted ChickpeasClassic Tomato SauceButternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup - my lunch today :-)Strawberry Banana Tofu Smoothie - froze half and it made a nice "ice cream" another daySweet Spinach Smoothieand moreNew ones trying this week:Lentil Spinach MeatballsApricot Nut Breakfast barand moreThe devotions are right on too. They are simple and quick. I am doing more to connect with the Lord as that is my focus this fast, but she helps me connect the immediate events of my life to God.This is definitely my go to book and I have recommended it to many people offline. God has blessed all of the readers through Kristen as they approach the throne of God with humility. This book doesn't replace my Bible, prayer time, or focus on God during the fast, but it has been a tool to help me get there without stumbling. She prepares you for the fast with diligence and care then walks you through like a good friend.

A wonderful tool in our spiritual belt!
My husband is a pastor of a Baptist church and he and I along with some of the members of our congregation recently started the 21 day fast leading up to Easter. A couple of weeks ago we hosted a Daniel Fast Luncheon at our church and we ate Daniel Fast foods, one of the items we made was Kirsten's Ozark Fruit Salad w/ Apple Cinnamon dressing and people really enjoyed it! After we ate I gave a short presentation on the fast and then we called the people to fast with us. We were so excited to see how well received it was and how willing people were to the discipline of fasting.During the presentation I used insights from Kristen's book, The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast, and encouraged others to purchase the book as I found it to be so helpful. I personally benefited from reading the book finding it beneficial, not only, for its biblical implications, but it's spiritual and practical implications. It was laced with biblical insights and examples of fasting, which helped deepen my understanding of this ever important spiritual discipline. I especially enjoyed the insights from Is. 58. It was also helpful on a spiritual level, with the insights shared and the 21 day devotional that I am now using each morning. It was also very practical with its numerous recipes of which my husband and I have begun to try! Her online devotional has also been a blessing! In fasting we need focus and Kristen's book is very helpful in directing us towards a focus because of how practical and easy to follow it is. Fasting can be a scary thing because it is such an unknown. Kristen's book helps alleviate some of those fears. Fasting is such a powerful tool in our arsenal against the Enemy and foes. We are excited for the things God will do through this 21 day fast as we walk more intimately through this very needed, yet, neglected discipline.

Highly Recommend!
Tried quite a few recipes in here and they were delicious! One of the recipes used an ingredient off of the do-not-use list, but other than that, I was pleasantly surprised. I loved it so much that I bought one for my mom.

Perfect
Before I have the book I tried the recipes online; and they are really good, now with the book I’m going to be more organized and the recipes are delicious 😋. I like meat; but I’m doing the Daniel’s Fast, and believe me with this recipes I didn’t miss meat; and I lost 8 pounds, and I am never hungry. (I like to eat) Thanks Kristen, your recipes are truly good and healthy, is a blessing for me.I couldn’t loose at list 2 pounds, even my doctor put me in ozempic, didint work for me (I’m diabetic 2); but when I started the Daniel’s Fast it works perfect. I’m in my third week. After, I’ll try to adjust this diet to my regular diet.

I like the devotionals and the testimonials added. They were inspiring and served as motivation to complete the fast. The food options to were so good. I will recommend it to anyone trying fasting for the first time
