Providing expected function. Likely more comfortable for some.
These are simple mitts that have been a good substitute for the typical puffy-on-all-sides ones found in many hospitals. The padded side is not as puffy as those, and the fabric is denim in color and looks more friendly somehow. One thing that is helpful with the mesh, is that these mittens are not as hot. I did try wearing the puffy ones in response to a family member's reaction to the puffy ones, and they indeed got uncomfortably hot quickly. The analogy would be if one wears socks to bed, one sometimes wants to remove them because the feet get too hot -- but of course the person wearing these types of mittens cannot remove them. These mittens are of course, still restraints with the legal rules around restraints applying. They are also, of course, mittens with Velcro closures with the general rules for fitting the Velcro also applying (not too tight -- some people use the 2 finger or 3 finger rule). In terms of durability, after a couple of months one has a small hole in the mesh, but the mitten remains functional for preventing things like scratching (our person is not agitated).

Great for elderly demtia patients
These were a great fit for my mother in law even though she didn't like them on her. They are great if you have someone who is constantly picking or pulling their clothes or tubes off or out. The only advise I can give is to make sure that when you put them on to make sure that the mesh part if facing the top part of their hands because they can still grab and pull items through the mesh

Should work best with a restraint.
Helps prevent the patient prom scratching her chest or other parts of the body.

Does not prevent hand rotation inside mitt
Mitt was used for dementia patient. Patient was however able to turn hand 180 degrees inside mitt. Patient was then able to grasp surrounding objects and destroy things.

Five Stars
These are well made, although they are a little large for a woman with small hands.

Rip Easily
I liked these at first but the first and second pair ripped. The mesh is not strong enough. Also the finger positions are not necessary. I'm trying another brand.
