Saris Kool 2-Bike Truck Bed Mount Rack

Mounting this thing in the truck bed was so easy, then pulling it back out was even easier. Mounting the bike to the rack also a snap. The only thing I find that might be an issue is the clamp up of the bike mount on the rack. It either loosened itself or the clamp spread apart. How I noticed this is the bike began to wobble as I was going down the road. The wobble stopped as I re-tightened the clamp. I am still monitoring it I am overall satisfied with the rack.

Saris marks this thing up by 2X. If you get this same product from Save-A-Load instead of Saris you can purchase the bar for about $80 and the bike attachments for about $31 each.Lots of good info on the Save-A-Load web site on similar products to keep truck loads in place too.

Worked perfectly in the bed of my 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab short bed. I had to get creative with the positioning of the fork locks (one "normal" orientation, one positioned 90 degrees off) so that they would clear my rolled up tonneau cover and allow enough space to close the tailgate, One of the bikes is a short-wheelbase recumbent with the crank positioned well-ahead of the fork. If you don't have a tonneau cover to worry about the rear wheels will easily clear the tailgate. The bikes were rock-solid over an 8 hour round trip. Great product! Solid construction, quality components.

Want a bike rack and a cargo management device, this does both. If you have a bed liner and a short bed it may be tricky to figure out where to mount the rack so you can shut the tail gate with the bikes mounted. Had to get an additional extension for my thru-axle mountain bikes. Nothing in the way of security though, you will need a cable or chain to lock the bikes to the bed.

This is probably a very acceptable rack for bikes with a skewer type fork quick release. But for bikes with a through axle quick release, like on many mountain bikes with upgraded shock forks, the attachment doesn't work. And I am not aware that the company makes an attachment that will work. I will need to return my rack unfortunately.

I have purchased several Saris roof racks in the past for different vehicles and have always been pleased with the quality and easy installation. This truck bed bicycle rack is no exception. Excellent quality and the installation was beyond easy! Once installed it can be removed or reinstalled in a matter of seconds! Remove the rack by pressing a button to release the pressure. A few pumps of the lever will reinstall the rack. I love it!

I bought this for a road trip my wife and I were taking and it worked perfectly. We have a 2002 Toyota tacoma and the adjustable bar was easy to assemble and install. Our road bikes have quick release tires so there was no issue on attaching the bikes. Just take of the tire and use the build it holder on the mount to tighten to the frame. As expected the bikes block the view in the review but that was fairly minimal. I would definitely recommend this purchase to friends.

Arrived two days late, after I left for a mountain bike trip. Turns out I couldn’t have used it anyway as the product was missing the snap button for the save a load bar (try finding that at your local hardware store) as well as a carriage bolt for the bike attachment.

Worked great. Assembly was very easy. The bikes stayed secure the whole trip. Great way to transport more than one bike.
