I don't wear a hijab, I bought these as an alternative to using a pin to hold my chiffon jackets in place so I don't have to keep adjusting them on my shoulders. These magnets are so strong I have a hard time getting them apart so I am confident they will do the job I intended. I like the fact there are two sets of each color so I may use a set on each lapel side of the light-weight chiffons. I dare say these little guys are so strong they would have no problem with winter-weight scarves as well.

These small magnets are very strong. I have used them on an extra fabric head rest on my leather chair to hold it in place. I have not used them for scarves and clothing yet but sure they will hold securely!
