The backing peels easy and this stuff just works great for sheetmetal ducts as it should. You could pay more for a some extra ink and a name brand, but why?

It can be a pain to get used to how well it sticks. Once it sticks to itself or anything else, you are pretty much "done". My only complaint (I went through 4 rolls) is if the plastic backer stuff that you peel away gets nicked. It constantly splits when that happens. Doesn't affect the use or effectiveness of the tape, just a PITA. I love the review that says "it will stick to butter". That guy was telling the truth!

I shopped around and found this the best buy in a heavy-duty foil mastic. I have tried and was very pleased with the Nashua tape, but it is much more money. I used this product repair about 40 feet of leaky gutters. I cleaned them before using, but there was still likely to be some dusty debris left behind. It made no difference, as this tape had excellent adhesion and save me the cost of having to replace the gutters. See the before and after photos.

Very powerful as either a stationary zapper or hand held wand. However, the materials seem delicate so you have to be careful with it.

Used on hvac pipes in dry crawlspace, spent days wrapping and insulating ducts, rechecked a week later and probably 30% completely separated from pipes. Poor product

I work in HVAC professionally and have used a handful of foil mastic tape brands. This one might be one of the best I have used in terms of how easy it is to tear + the foil doesn't peel away from the adhesive too much .The foil does look somewhat cheap but it's not like this tape is being used anywhere that appearance will matter much.

Worked well to seal up round metal duct before mechanical inspection on new construction. I would buy again. Would be nice if it was a little wider so as to cover sheet metal screws. In some spots I used to passes of tape but it works great. would buy again as its a good price as of this writing.

Sometimes tricky finding the right product from pictures. This 17mil foil tape is awesome. I think most of the .17 is the sticky "mastic" adhesive. It still conforms well to lumps and bumps on ductwork. I think this tape will probably last longer than me. Once it is firmly pressed onto a clean duct it is permanent. Way thicker than the big box store offerings.
