I'm using this catch with a fairly heavy shed door. I couldn't be happier. Even in high winds, the door stays open. Yet it's easy to pull close. It's much better than the hook+eye catch that it replaced. Easy to install: I first mounted the male part on the door. Then slid on the female catch, opened the door, then traced around the catch to determine its mounting point on the wall.

This is a solid hinge that definitely did the job fixing our ceiling mounted swing-down attic staircase in our garage. It certainly secures the door closed! Wish we would’ve installed this more than 10 years ago, who knew it was this simple to solve.

Used to keep screen porch doors closed during strong winds. Works great but get used to how hard to push open. The pivot shaft is sledged pressed into place, worked loose causing latch to bind. Used a center punch to flair it and back in place it went and stayed. It closes so hard, at first others think your slamming the door cause your mad. This is a great latch design, I bought another for another door. Some creative mounting will be involved it's large.

Very secure grip. Just what I needed, when I didn't know I needed it. Holds my barn doors open so they don't move around in the wind.

My camper came with a thin plastic latch and hook. Pathetic. This one is the opposite of pathetic. In fact, I was concerned the latch would be too strong, making it difficult to unlatch the 30" door or, during the process, I would rip out the longer screws I had substituted for those provided. But the latch works perfectly with just the right amount of tug to release the door and yet keep the door securely open in a stout wind. I did, however, as a just-in-case, use small bolts with washers and nuts through the door since there was no metal tubing in that area to secure the hook part of the latch.

Super easy to install, and my worn out "friction hinges" don't matter any more. When I push my door all the way open, it STAYS open, even in really gusty winds. Stupid of the RV manufacturers to stop putting catches on the trailers to hold the door open.

Added to my new yard shed to hold the four foot door open. Easy to install with included screws and looks to be constructed of quality materials.

Put these on our big shop doors and they worked perfectly. Very durable and easy install!

Holds the door like Hodor. I have a relatively heavy door and it hold it open no problem... well unlike Hodor, he held it closed. But you know what I mean.
