Mystic Diary: Haunted Island

I just finished playing both of the 'House of 1000 doors' games and 'Dark strokes' and 'Mystic Diary, Haunted Island, just did'nt stack up to them. I found it rather boring, with way too many hidden objects scenes. The music was alright but made me sleepy which may be why I found it boring also, but I have to say that the graphics were nice. I bought this game because of all the wonderful reviews, but I wonder if the other reviewers have played the games that I mentioned above. Maybe it's just me, but I found this game to be just OK, at best.

To me, there is WAY too much having to jump back and forth from one scene to another to collect the parts. I, personally, do not like all of that. I would rather have a good, interesting, challenging game that having to keep returning to the same place over and over just for one teeny part.

The mystic diary helps you search for clues. The magical looking glass draws different designs for portals into another scene.It's a new approach and rather fun. The clues are found easier with the expanded picture so it's. NThe game is interesting. Thank goodness it works on kindlefire.

I enjoyed this to a point, then it seems like you get stuck and no matter what you try you can't find the next step. The hints are not specific enough to continue, they you get frustrated and stop playing it.

I am playing this game right now, and I love it!! I need the walkthrough occasionally,and for the last object I was seeking, I had to go on the online forum and find the location of my needed thing. I love that because it keeps the game interesting! I have played several of these games on CD and this one is one of the better ones. Would highly recommend it. (Note: I am in my 60's, have two advanced degrees, and still find this challenging enough to be fun!)

Finished this very fast. The game requires you to go back again and again to find the things required, plus there are many hints, so it is very easy to play.

I have all the Mystic Diary games and really have not been disappointed. The graphics are nice and the game play is just challenging enough to keep me interested but not stress me out. No gore so it's suitable for teen- tween audiences. Keeps the mind active.

Short game. It was fun, but it didn't last long enough. It wasn't very challenging. It's okay.

I found it intriguing and a lot of fun to play. I would recommend this game to my family and friends.
