Works great!
We have a runner over carpet and it was constantly moving and clearly a tripping hazard. I had tried other products that were supposed to keep it from moving but none of them worked at all. I finally bought this one and it's great! The runner stays in place now!

Great product
Great product. I had a 7x10 rug I was putting down. The plastic was fun to remove but finally got it in place - very sticky. So plan ahead. Still has not move.

Great product!
My rug, even though it had a rubber backing, kept bunching on the indoor/outdoor carpet until I purchased this rug gripper. Fit perfectly, no trimming was necessary. I laid it by myself, but would have been much easier with a second person because once in place you have to peel the protective plastic off of the top side and it's sticky.

This doesn't work whatsoever
Bottom line: This sticks to itself better than it will stick to your rug or your carpet. Do not buy!I am doing everything in my power to avoid a plastic chair mat for my loft area and a low pile rug was one of my possible solutions. I was looking for a product that would keep my rug in place on carpet and came across "Gorilla Grip" and had hope. Well upon delivery and installation my dreams were quickly shattered. This thing doesn't stick to carpet and it won't stick to your rug either. But it will stick to dirt and itself. It might make a great fly trap but as a rug holder don't waste your money.A couple additional notes...1. Install is not easy the clear film will unseat your mat and turn into a self adhering disaster.2. This is definitely a one time use product I am gonna try to return it but I am curious what Amazon would do with this other than trash it.3. This is a low quality, thin, felt pad with a light adhesive I am not sure what this was designed to work on but home carpet is not it.

Helps with rugs on carpet but don't expect miracles
These non-slip pads work OK but they are not a permanent cure. I have two rugs on carpet with serious wanderlust--the Gorilla pads helped them to stay at home but not forever. I ended up having to reposition them after a few weeks, and each time you reposition the rugs the nonslip pad's adhesive gets weaker. When the rugs move you can see the non-slip pad around the edges.I don't regret purchasing these pads, I feel I got my money's worth, but after four months or so I'm going to have to replace them.Installing can be a little bit tricky since you have to trim the pad if it's oversize. If you have a larger rug this may be a job for two people. The directions say to stick the pad to the carpet, then place the rug on the pad; you may want to experiment with attaching the pad to the rug first.

does not leave a residue on hardwood floors
For 'Value for the money' I did give 4 stars, but I bought them half off! I don't think I would have tried them at full price, which would have been my loss, but luckily it was on sale. I did cut them in half and attached the pieces at the very edge around the corners and few on the edges of the middle of the longer sides. Keeps even the thinnest rugs in place while vacuuming. I bought more for other rugs around the house.

Really doesn’t stick carpet to carpet.
Was looking for specific carpet to carpet material that would stick. Unfortunately, this is not the one. It says you can cut and use in places that need stuck down, that does not work, it only rolls up. It might work if you were placing the entire pad under the rug, but who knows I had way too many rugs. I was trying to stick down.

It actually works
I have a 2x3 area rug in front of my recliner to prevent wearing out the carpet. It has aggravated me to death for years. I had it under the front feet of the recliner but it was constantly getting bunched up. I started researching rug tape and the consensus was that it either didn't work for carpet on carpet or it would leave sticky residue on the carpet underneath or even pull up some of the carpet. I stumbled upon this product and it is specifically advertised for AREA RUG ON CARPET. I ordered the 2x3 size and it fit perfectly under the area rug which made installing it easy. I don't know how much hassle it would have been to try to cut it to size. It basically looks and feels like a very thin sheet of cotton which I didn't have much hope would stick to the carpet. I laid it in place, removed the film on the top side and laid the area rug over it. I then walked on it to flatten out any wrinkles. It appears that the fibers of this product mesh with the carpet. It really stays in place. I haven't had to reposition my area rug for 3 days now. Impressed.Update: 9/17/23It still keeps the area rug nice and flat so that eliminated the bunching up. However, the area rug "walks" across the carpet a little bit every time I step on it. I am now having to reposition it every couple of days. I don't even have to completely pick it up to reposition it. I just lift the edges and slide it where I want it. Still better than nothing but not a perfect solution.

So far so good!
Purchased this to stop my gigantic 10x14 foot area from creating a large hump and ripples over my wall to wall carpet. I was really skeptical, I still am…but so far it has worked like a charm. It was pretty easy to “install”. I live alone and was able to do it by myself. I purchased 2 7x10 pads as there wasn’t one big enough of my rug. I folded my rug in half, put one pad down and smoothed it then removed the plastic film and folded the area rug back over top. Repeated it on the other side. I had to trim a bit of the pad that was peaking out. All in all a pretty easy process. Fingers crossed it keep working as good as it has over the last week!
