Small, but useful!
I few nights after we received this, a storm came through and we were without electricity for about 6 hours. This is small, but it kept my sweet Mama reasonably cool in 85 degree weather. The light was sufficient to allow her to see in the interior hallway with no lights. All-in-all, a great addition to our "Hurricane Preparedness" shelf!

Hurricane ready
Here in south Florida you can never have enough battery operated resources and when the lights go out, this fan will provide white noise so I can sleep and a little air flow too!

Save your $$$
I bought this fan for the many power outages we have here in the CA desert. Even on 'high' I can barely feel the air moving and that's when I put the fan 6" away from me. Set on 'high', the fan keeps shutting off; maybe it's defective. The batter is rechargeable, but that's useless during 'brown-outs' so I was glad that this fan also ran on D-cell batteries. However, I would not recommend this fan. I feel I wasted $40.

Super quiet!
I purchased it with the intention of using it during camping trips, but it has become my constant companion. Its remarkable quietness allows me to recharge it in my truck while on the road, and I greatly appreciate the comfort it offers during sleep.

I am a fan of this fan.
The media could not be loaded. Out of the box:1. LEMOISTAR Fan with 8-inch blade. The User Manual describes it as ‘D Cell Battery Operated Camping Fan with Timer-FT9D’;2. USB Cord (32.5 inches) (USB-A to USB-C); and3. User Manual. The User Manual states the USB Cord is 31.5 inches. I measured 32.5 inches. There is no onboard battery that can be charged. The USB cord is for powering the fan from an external power source, such as a power bank, a computer, or a wall adapter. While it can be powered by six D Cell batteries, I will be using power banks. Note: It also works with three D Cell batteries; although I believe three batteries will drain faster. This fan appears to be durable (if handled with care). It is lightweight and very easy to move around. While it would be a good fan to take on a camping trip, it can also be used to keep you cool on a hot summer evening as you relax in your chair while watching television or reading a book.I noticed a reviewer was disappointed with the air flow. I have not had any problems with that. On my fan, the 8-inch blade puts out good airflow. I placed it on my coffee table 41 inches from my face and the breeze from it was very noticeable and refreshing, even at its lowest speed.I noticed two typos on the seller’s page. I might be a bit picky, but since I noticed them, I thought I should mention that two places state the number of speeds is 3, when it actually is stepless. The User Manual states the light has SOS (flash). It does not flash the Morse code SOS pattern of three long, followed by three short flashes. It flashes at a constant rate. Regardless, the flashing should get the attention of anyone that sees it.The lights are quite bright. In addition to being useful while camping, they would come in handy during a power failure.I have been using a 33800mAh power bank to run the fan. The fan will run for a long time before the power bank needs recharging.I plan on using this attractive little fan to keep me cool as I watch television during hot humid days of summer. I am in my upper 70s and do not do well on hot, humid days; this fan and I are going to become great friends. This LEMOISTAR fan gets 5-Stars from me.At this time, I can’t say how it will stand up after continued use. Time will tell. If I have any problems, I will update this review.

Good fan that pushes quite a bit of air
I typically only use this fan with a power bank, as I don’t really see the need to buy D cell batteries to use with this one specific fan. I do seem to use it a lot though, even when I’m not outdoors, and want to pull some cool air from the outside into my room. It seems to be pretty decent at that, and I like the timer function, so I can just leave it as I start to sleep. I don’t really use the light function, however through my testing it seems OK. The only problem is that the SOS mode really isn’t morse code “SOS”, they just mean flashing. So here’s a quick overview of what I liked:-It pushes a lot of air-It feels pretty light (it isn’t really, it’s 850 grams without any batteries, but the handle makes it feel lighter than it is)-It has rubber feet on the bottom-Can use anything that provides 5v2a-Timer function works, and has pretty sensible times-Battery level indicator is good-USB C power passthrough (so you don’t even need batteries in the fan for it to work)-USB C port has a rubber “weatherproof” seal on itAnd here’s what I didn’t like:-SOS mode isn’t SOS, it’s just flashing the light (ie it’s not . . . - - - . . . it’s just . . . . . . .)-Doesn’t have a dedicated USB C port where the batteries are, in case I want to put a power bank in there instead of batteries-Can be a little noisy, even at low volumes-Doesn’t seem to provide very much static pressure (it won’t push air through things like thin mesh very well)-It’s pretty thick for what it is (Nearly 3 inches)-The tilt mechanism is just resistive, so it may wear out over timeOverall I think this fan is pretty good. It does push a lot of air, and I like that the use of D batteries are optional. I think the value of the fan isn’t that great though. Compared to other camping style fans on amazon, this one is a little more expensive. Currently it’s $55 with a $5 coupon. The cheapest one that I can find, that is comparable is $46 with a $10 coupon. Despite the higher price, I think I still can recommend this one. I can’t really say that it doesn’t work, because it does, but I think I would’ve rather had thicker blades for better air pressure, and a slot for battery banks, rather than D cell batteries. So if you can get past the things I didn’t like, I can recommend this fan. It’s nice, and does work well.

Also works on USB power banks
This fan greatly exceeded my expectations. I almost didn’t order it because I noticed the words, ‘D cell batteries’ long before I noticed it saying that it could run off a USB power bank. I much prefer NOT having a built in power bank because I keep two 33,800 mAh power banks charged at all times. If a rechargeable lithium battery were built in, it would definitely be smaller than one of my power banks (10,000 mAh at most), I would always have to ensure the fan is charged before I went anywhere, and there is the cost to myself as well as to the earth. Using a power bank is a more flexible option as you can use it to power a myriad of things aside from your fan and light combination. If you are taking this fan off-grid for an extended period of time you could consider getting a power bank which recharges using solar energy. This fan is everything the seller says it is. This is one beefy, powerful wind source and I like the infinitely variable amount of air you can choose for it to push through. The lights are also powerful with 3 settings for constant light and one bright, blinky intermittent light for signaling in emergencies. It does not signal SOS per se (who knows Morse Code anyway?) but it does keep flashing brightly. It’s easy to tote this fan/light combo around because of the convenient handle. Convenient, at least, if your fan isn’t stuffed with D cell batteries. Then it would be impractically heavy for me for a camping trip. It's not as rugged as a metal fan but as long as you are not careless, you can enjoy it for years to come. One change I wish they would make would be to have the ability to hang upside-down with ease. It already can rotate the blade from completely vertical to completely horizontal. Some people may wish it came with a lightweight carrying bag to keep it separate from other things when they travel with it. It’s not something I would want included for myself, though; I have lots of nylon bags. Perhaps the bag could be made as an option for a bit more money.

A good sized for camping.
I have a couple of travel fans, but they are very small. This one interested me because it's larger at 8". This is not a rechargeable fan, it operates on either D Cell batteries, or with a power source (USB-A to USB-C cord included, no block. The fan itself has what they call a 'stepless' speed control instead of Low/Medium/High, the speed just increases with the move of the dial which is kind of nice for those days when low is just not enough, but medium is too much! I do find that it puts off a good amount of wind. The sound is fairly quiet, for those of us who like that white noise, it's a very soothing. It also has a timer setting to turn off at either half an hour, an hour, 4 hours or 8 hours. The lights have three settings, low/medium/high, and a 4th which flashes....all in the cold white spectrum. Not my favourite, but they work. It will be good as a backup for blackouts, or for camping. The material is not heavy, but at the same time it does not feel cheap.I think I'll probably be using this fan a lot.
