Craftsman V20 Cordless Garden Tool
I purchased this tool to help me in planting flowers, bulbs, etc. It is light weight, simple to operate & has safety features that make it easy to use. We have compact clay soil in our area so digging holes can require some real effort. The auger allows me to start the process & then use a small garden hand trowel or regular shovel to expand the hole for plantings. I have charged the battery pack only once & have used it over a week as I set out new plantings.

Makes planting a whole lot easier.
With several flats of flowers to plant, hand digging holes was a breeze with this auger. One minute and the hole is ready for plopping in a flower. Very sturdy and easy to hold while the auger does the work. Highly recommend it. It was so easy my husband even liked to help plant!! Win win.

If you have trouble using a shovel or hoe to dig holes for your plants, this is the tool for you. It is very easy to use and quickly creates your holes for small garden plants without strain.

Good product; not sure if I can recommend it
This product does do what it says; I have used this to make a few holes in the yard for some plants this upcoming spring. The 1.5ah battery is fine, and the charger is fine as well; these are the lowest end items from Craftsman, but nice to be in a system. Craftsman mention that this is compatible with other Craftsman garden bits, but this Auger bit is the only one ... so it's a single use item, not multi as of writing this.I have a few Dewalt and Craftsman tools, and my DeWalt hammer drill is much more powerful than this brushed motor, so I don't see why you wouldn't just use the money to buy a more powerful drill, that IS multi use and can get a cheap 12 inch auger bit. A hammer drill w/ battery from Craftsman will run you about $50 more, but I'd argue that's a much better value. The garden tool itself is good and is equivalent to other Craftsman tools I have; but I'd recommend you look elsewhere. This tool reminds me of that one weird kitchen gadget that cuts the core of an apple but if you invested in a quality knife set you'd be able to cut an apple with ease, it's the same thing here.

Love it...
I've been looking for an auger drill that can handle larger augers. It's early but it's handling the jobs well. It has limitations like roots over 1/2 inch thick and medium amd larger rocks. I deal with those issues separately and let the auger do the rest.Only negative; I wish the drill was a 30+ volt or higher...for more power.
