Avana Mattress Elevator - Under Bed 7-Inch Incline Foam Support, King

I have had this bed wedge for half a year now and really love it.I put mine under my mattress, so I didn't have to worry about how it feels to sleep on the material. I did measure it today and it is still 7 inches tall, so it hasn't compressed under the weight.I don't have any sort of cover for the wedge and this hasn't caused any issues. It sometimes gets a little dirty, but it's nothing I can't easily clean. Results may vary if you use the wedge above the mattress.I know some people complained about the size and it is about 1-2 inches larger than a queen sized bed, but it's relatively minor and easy to ignore as long as you are expecting it.---All this being said, while I would go with this company for another bed wedge, I wouldn't recommend someone starting with 7 inches. It takes some getting used to and my research was showing that more like 4-5 inches is good enough for most disorders requiring a wedge and it is generally easier for people to adjust to a shorter wedge.When I first laid on it, I felt like I was falling off my bed. I also struggled to sleep due to the angle. While I got used to it in time, I still struggle to return to my bed after sleeping on another one as the wedge then feels wrong and off for a few days. It's not nearly as bad as the first time I slept on the wedge, but it's still disorienting for a bit.

This elevated mattress is working out well. It is comfortable, and the incline is hardly noticeable as far as sleep is concerned. The only thing I didn't take into consideration was that my bed was already high, plus I have a 10inch mattress. I now need a step stool to get into bed LOL.

I've been sleeping on my "elevated" bed for over three weeks now, and am pleased with it. I've edited the following to incorporate new information.We ordered the 7-inch Full size Avana Mattress Elevator on Monday and it was delivered on Thursday in a 31 x 17 x 9" box that (according to the shipping label) weighed 15 pounds -- quite a manageable size and weight for just about anyone to handle. I wasn't sure whether to expect one whole piece or two halves -- we got two halves, which are definitely easier to carry around than one biggie would be, though I'm more interested in how well they perform.The pieces were very easy to unroll, and expanded to nearly their full size immediately. I could detect no odor whatsoever, but set the pieces in the attic to finish expanding and to outgas for a few days. One piece is very white, like lather, and the other is an extremely pale yellow, though I suppose both may continue to yellow over time.I would very happily have ordered the cloth cover too if the original zipper model was still available. But since previous reviewers say the currently offered cover is basically a fitted sheet, I bought a complete set of sheets for far less money (in a color that coordinates well with the rest of the bedding), and am using one to cover the foundation and the other to cover the elevator foam. I'm quite pleased with the overall visual effect (though, again, I'm more interested in how well the elevator performs).Like many others, I wasn't happy about the bed getting 7" higher (it was too tall already), so we eliminated the metal frame and set the foundation (it's not actually a box spring) directly on the floor. The foam pieces will go between the foundation and the mattress. (My initial thought was to eliminate the foundation instead, but that would have left the foam pieces sitting directly on unfinished plywood, which didn't seem like a good idea.)The new arrival has replaced the wedge pillow that I bought eleven months ago. It worked very well to control my acid indigestion, but as others have mentioned, wedge pillows are not ideal for side sleepers, because one's hips do not cheerfully bend sideways. I'll keep mine, though, for occasions when I'm sleeping elsewhere.Other reviewers have complained that the tend to slide down the bed during the night. I do occasionally notice that I'm a little further south than when I went to bed, but that sort of thing hasn't been an actual problem the way it sometimes was when I would slide down the wedge pillow.I'm still free of the acid indigestion, which had been striking me in the late evening, on the average of maybe a couple days per week. I still have no idea how sleeping in a different position has any effect on what my stomach does a few hours earlier (or, perhaps more accurately, more than a dozen hours later), but am not complaining! I hadn't gotten the elevator for that purpose, but rather because if I burp when lying flat, I often burp up some stomach acid. It's nice not to feel the need to sit up if I feel a burp coming on at night, and even nicer to know that if I happen to burp in my sleep, that'll be OK too.Oddly enough, I never noticed any chronic sort of acid reflux till shortly *after* I started using the elevator, but I'm virtually certain that was caused by one or two other things that I started doing about the same time. Fortunately, I find that avoiding tomatoes has virtually eliminated that problem for now, though hopefully I'll be able to reintroduce them once I deal with those other things.As I continue using the Avana Mattress Elevator, I'll update this review from time to time.

Timely delivery. Good quality. Good price. Sleeps well It’s a little harder to get in the bed, however it does provide the head of bed elevation doctor recommended to reduce complications of acid reflux. Needed another person to help me get it under the mattress. Great that it came in two parts so it was not too heavy.

I love it! I have a really bad allergy and this bed elevator has helped me so much with breathing and snored. This is the 2nd one that I has ordered
