I had a long career in the field of education.  So I tend to "grade" products that I purchase.  In this case, I would say the tempered glass chair mat deserves an A+.  I have a large room with 2 desk areas.  I recently had new wall-to-wall thick carpeting installed over a new thick foam underlayment.  Very comfortable to walk on.  But...both office chairs with wheels basically wouldn't move.  I literally had to get out of the chair to place the chair where I wanted and then awkwardly slide into the chair.  Very annoying.  Logged onto Amazon and discovered tempered glass mats.  Frankly, I was a bit concerned about the safety of glass, and didn't really even know what "tempered" meant.  However...after doing a little research to educate myself, I decided to order one of these mats.  Right decision!  I was amazed at how easily it was to get in and out of the chair, with effortless movement.  In addition, when I discovered that the extremely well packaged mat was shipped from California to my residence in the state of Maine...and arrived without even a small scratch...I was impressed.  After using the mat for a little more than a week of use, I ordered another one for my other desk.  And the price was reasonable.  I would recommend this product to anyone who has a thick carpet situation in their desk area. Also, the mats look classy atop the carpeting.  I like the effect of the gray glass, through which you can easily see the carpeting, but also easily see the perimeter of the mat.  The desk chairs move so easily, that I now know how little movement is required (to avoid rolling off the mat.)  Also:  I had posed an online question to the seller prior to ordering, and received a fairly quick response.  Impressive. One of the best purchases I've made in quite awhile.

I wanted a glass mat for my office because the vinyl mats I had previously bought did not last. I looked at Vitrazza because I saw their mats advertized on TV. Unfortunately a tempered glass mat in the size I wanted was going to cost over $400. I found this mat on Amazon at less than 1/3 the cost of Vitrazza. The quality is excellent and the mat looks very nice. I can't imagine paying over $400 for a mat when you can get this one at a much lower cost. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I got two of these and they are great. Very durable, stay in place, easy to roll your chair on and do a great job of protecting the flooring.

Tempered glass mat is very sturdy and so far works great over a carpeted office. It is good size to keep chair from rolling off edges, and is nice and clear without blemishes. Only issue I have, is with the archaic packing used in the box. There has to be a better solution than using horrible, thin, styrofoam sheets, that crumble and get everywhere. That stuff creates a mess, that takes forever to clean up, sticks to everything, and is not good for environment. One would think these companies, would have found a better more environmentally friendly packing material, besides this mess.

For a month I had been receiving what was to be the color I ordered, which was Blue Grey. Three time I had to return the same wrong color, Grey. I explained this in the comment box of the return process but it seemed to go unnoticed. They just kept repeating the mistake. After the third time I call Amazon and they handled the issue by promising the correct color will be sent. Even though the box was heavy yet fragile and awkward to carry, I returned all three without incident. It was the principle of the thing. I can't imagine the cost of shipping and returning 3 glass mats between California and New England. It was the principle of the thing. I figured I will finally get the product I ordered, not so. Before the 4th mat arrived I checked the website and noticed they no longer offered the Blue Grey, nor is it mentioned anywhere, even in the reviews. It was like the color never existed. Sure enough the Grey came again. This time I threw in the towel. They don't even claim it's out of stock, they no longer claim there is a Blue Grey to offer. After all this I will still recommend this mat. I think it's a good mat for the money and it's shipped in a smart way that it's easy to remove and repack without any of the foam stuff that gets everywhere. If it doesn't "explode" and holds up over time it's worth the extra money over the lousy plastic mats. Not to mention the Grey looks really good. Too bad it took me a month and 3 trips to UPS for the same mat.

I was very skeptical when I bought the mat. I have a home office that has very thick carpet and very thick padding and I was gonna put a glass mat on the floor. It came was boxed and unboxed with no problem by one person. he slid the mat out rather than opening it up and taking out that Styrofoam and changing getting all that Styrofoam all over the yard. So we put it underneath my chair. They’re thinking I can’t stop that that is going to break. I have a very large dust chair that’s heavy I weigh 345 pounds so I knew for sure it was going to break so I had different members in my family get on it to see if it was OK and safe. It was my turn I stepped on. It didn’t crack on my chair it didn’t crack, I’m so impressed and this looks so professional in my office. I would give this mat a perfect score if it wasn’t for one problem it slides around on the floor I didn’t get any things clips to make it stop. I was worried about getting the smaller one, but it works fine for my desk. If I ever upgraded, I’d probably get the bigger one. In another review, it said that the chair slip really easily a across the glass so I’ve been very careful when to sit down, but I didn’t think about when I got up. I went to get up in the chair shut out from behind me thankfully I was able to grab my desk and not fall.

Mat arrived packed very well. Heavy duty clear glass mat. Very strong and crystal clear. Smooth surface chair rolls with ease.
