Purple Passion Live Asparagus Bare Root Plants - 2yr Crowns - Can Not Ship from California (10 Asparagus Crowns)

First, this was delivered 4 days after ordered... didn't expect that since I really waited too long to obtain these from my regular nursery.... couldn't believe I could still find these this late for planting..... so wasn't expecting a lot... especially at such a GREAT price!! Anyway, the asparagus crowns arrived looking REALLY, REALLY GOOD!!! I would say they will be growing and producing just fine!!!! I will definitely be looking for other items from this company!!!

These purple asparagus roots were the biggest and healthiest I've received in many years. These are twice the size of ones I got this year from "G's", and were far healthier and more vigorous. So far, 95% have sprouted and are growing very well, which is above par. Super seller~! Update for 2025: Re-ordered this Spring for bed expansion and got super fast shipping and excellent asparagus roots---Purple Passion---this year, too~! Highly recommend these guys~!

Healthy crown stock. Soaked them for 24 hours, then planted, and within a week they were growing. Great buy!

I rarely write an Amazon review but was very impressed with the quality of these asparagus root starters and wanted to give kudos to the sellers. I have always bought asparagus through local nurseries but these roots were healthier and larger than the ones I'm able to get here. Thank you so much! These purple asparagus are always the most tender and sweet. I am putting them in gopher baskets now as I have been dealing with gophers eating the roots over the years.

I ordered crowns from another vendor here on Amazon a week or two after receiving these crowns because I wanted something to compare to, and those were easily 50% to 2x bigger and in much better shape, so I'm definitely not misremembering what good 2 year crowns are supposed to look and feel like.I have contacted the seller and will update my review with information about whatever resolution they offer me.

They all looked in good shape. We will see if they are good in the weeks to come.

Highly recommend. They don't look like much when you get them but I am very pleased with the plants. They have grown beyond the green variety from the box store. I have some in the ground and some in a raised bed. Both are growing very well. Looking forward to next year and the years to come with this beautiful variety.

I’m doubtful these are actually second year crowns. What I received were rather small crowns – as you can see in the photo, they are about 6” long and range from just a few pathetic roots dangling from the crown to fuller clumps. Nearly all had mold forming on the roots. I sprayed as much mold off as I could and planted – fingers crossed. Very disappointed as I specifically chose to purchase 2nd year crowns to get a bit of a headstart on growing.
