Either damaged in shipping or was poorly built.
The jaws when closed the left side of the jaw has a .030 gap.Returning it and having them send another one to replace it.

large clamp, will need a pretty large mill
Doesn't fit well in my mill, this clamp is a it larger than I expected.Probably need about 14" of work space to fit this.Seems to have good positioning, I didn't notice any looseness / lash, it seems to hold position well.Easy to adjust by hand.Seems a decent clamp, I have seen cheaper ones that had issues with lash in the threads, but this seems good for the price, it is a bit large though, so, be sure you have the space.

Good value for a compound cross-slide vise.
ONLY issue I had with this was the shipping protection. The box was nearly exploded from the movement of the heavy vise within the shipping box. Almost all of the styrofoam packing was obliterated from the shipping, allowing the vise to move around significantly within the box. A better foam, like urethane would likely hold up better.Clearly a mass-made cast metal vise. Including pot metal parts. The parts are not for the highest precision, but is perfect for woodworking. For machining, this might be below the standards for the pickiest of machinists. I had to file down some of the flash on one of the ball handles. No noticeable thread lash. Be sure to understand how to properly set the gibs. I'll include a photo. One set was loose, leading to what someone unfamiliar with these types of vises might think is slop in the slide ways. There are three set screws and three lock nuts for each gib. After adjusting mine, I'm going to remove them and regrease them and reset them properly, since this vise was just loaded with dirty grease/oil from manufacturing. It's not Cosmoline, which would prefer, but at least it's not rusty! :)Overall, great for most of the work I'll be using it for, which is for my drill press.
