Well handy for the handyman, and the handyman's wife.
I've always been a bit sceptical about labour saving devices, figuring that a bit of hard work now and then never hurt anybody, but after putting together an Ikea wardrobe with sliding doors and taking a couple of hours (with two of us working most of the time) I figured that the 8 Ikea chests of drawers for another room (music studio) were a job too far. Fortunately, between the two jobs I bought one of these and now swear by it (rather than at it). It's a great device, I can't speak highly enough of it.It lasts ages between charges, although you can top up the battery without any of the "memory effects" that used to be a big deal in the past, and the torque is excellent and adjustable (in case you can't tighten something more than a certain amount - you set the required torque and just operate until the clutch slips). The trigger mechanism is nice in that it isn't just on and off, but is more like a throttle. You can start screwing something in and, when you're sure it is going in true, you can increase the revs. It's a bulky beast, but is fine for all but the most incredibly awkward spaces where even a small screwdriver would probably fail anyway. If you are assembling something it might not hurt to assess how easy it'll be to screw things in at a later point and consider whether you can attach some parts before further assembly makes the whole thing difficult because of access. As for screwing things in, no complaints. It can be very easy to mash a screw head if you aren't careful. It can make a lot of revs before you realise that it isn't engaged properly in the screw head, by which time the damage may be done. What I find especially neat is the fact that with the head angled (and even without) it is possible to apply a lot of force onto the screw as you engage the motor, which gives it fantastic grip. The first time I used it on resolutely stuck tap headgear (set to unscrew, of course) I could pretty much lean in to the job and still get flawless rotation on the screw, and I stood back in amazement when the thing just yielded and came out. After that I was a convert and not just a fan. Since then I've done bulk assembly of furniture for my studio that was not at all tiring - although it was still just as boring. I also erected a fence and used this beast to put all the screws in. Fences are typically treated softwood anyway, but I was nevertheless impressed by the tool's ability to put long screws (1&3/4in) into 2 inch posts when I was putting a load of brackets into each post (into which panels were dropped and then also screwed). It took all the dread out of that chore, it was almost fun, and the chore took patience rather than all my energy. It pays to have the right screws for the job, though, some work better than others especially on exterior woodwork. There are some that are hard even for this to drive in. I used the greenish exterior screws available at Wickes, in case you're interested, they went into fence posts without a second thought.I've since assembled planters and other exterior woodwork, including attaching interior corner brackets to treated sleepers so that I could bolt them together. Sleepers were testing the tool's limits, though. Occasionally it'd help me to pre-drill a little way into the harder wood that the sleepers are made from. I'm certain that this tool would have problems with sleepers made from real hardwoods, though, the sort that the water board uses for underwater applications and which tend to last for a century (I'm not joking either); then again, woods like that will eat tool attachments for breakfast no matter what they are. What else, oh, I refurbished the interiors of our kitchen cabinets, and apart from the crawling around in some pretty horrible spaces, the tool made the whole thing very easy, with access to all the work areas possible, and the ability to really put some force behind the tool to make the screws go in straight and true. One of the worst aspects of working in confined spaces is if you start feeling hot and tired. This tool really takes that element away, you can put everything in with a cool head, which means that the quality of your work tends to stay good right through the job.Like all power tools it can get you into a bit of a spot quite quickly if you don't pay attention, so it is important to make sure the screws are going in true as soon as you can because, once it's going, that's where the screw is going no matter what. The other attachments for the nice quick-fix chuck include hex bolts, which save hauling around chains loaded with allen keys, and are great for some furniture, especially when it needs the hex bolts to be "nipped up" now and then. If anything, I'd really like to see this come with an "eye attachment" that would allow people to screw in things like cup hooks (you put the eye over the hook and use it to turn the hook into the wood). The reversing mechanism is just as good, I salvaged several parts of our old fence because I was able to back old and rusted screws out of the pieces. Again, I just leaned into the job and squeezed the trigger. We also found it very handy for headlamp replacement on my wife's motorbike (Inazuma 250). The fairing on this makes the job a bit of a faff, and although it was irritatingly complex and fiddly, none of our annoyance came about because of the screws, and the GWI managed to fit into all the daft angles that the replacement process required us to work in, leaving us with exactly zero skinned knuckles. The price is a pain, there's no doubting that, but this level of usefulness would tend to come with a pricetag to match. Used properly, though, it should last many years, and has saved us more than the asking price in time saved and workmen we've not needed to call in. I guess it goes without saying by now that if this one was ever to turn up its toes, I'd get another one.

Good product
The best solution I've tried so far for getting into tight awkward spaces. The head is pehaps a bit too large for the tiniest spaces, but it's very stable and a lot less fuss than using a right-angle attachment on a normal drill/driver. Also straighten the head and you've got an in-line driver. Another plus point is the positive clic-fix type bit holder. Suprisingly few drivers have this.

Great product - well worth the price
brilliant drill / driver. good solid feel, handy multi-angle head, powerful LiION battery and while it is not cheap, worth the price.

Incomplete
This is probably a good product but it is not as it states supplied with any batteries or charger or instructions so I have no way of knowing whether it works! Sent back immediately for a refund. At £215 this should be the complete set. The cardbox it came in was obviously well used & the unit looked 2nd hand. The only good comment is Amazon Prime was again fantastic but the product completely miss advertised.

Big brute.....But poweful enough for most tasks...
Ok, first, its a big bugger. More industrial than hobby use. Well over 2KG in weight.5 locking head positions from 90 to 180 degrees.variable speed dependent on trigger pressure and 7 torque settings, 6 driver and one for drilling. 9 different speeds.Plastic and rubberised coating.Reverse switch.Click-lock chuck mechanism makes for easy bit changing and bits wont fall out.Feels VERY solid and sturdy.Easy to change batteries.Has a hanging clip for easy carrying. It is, however, expensive for a cordless screwdriver. But, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.UPDATE: Although I have no issues with the item, so far its fine but only had light use, bosch's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Therefore I have downgraded my rating to3, purely for the craptacular (lack of and inaccurate) customer service.

Great tool, very clever design
Great tool, very clever design, gets in tight places. The torque control is great being electronic and not an annoying ratcheting clutch!

Indispensable
