Impressive and versatile label maker
What a great little printer. I have a label maker that I found at Goodwill for $5 and it only prints single lines of text, but it's come in handy a number of times to label small things like cables. This prints a much more useful size right out of the box, 40mm x 30mm (1.6" x 1.2") and can print pictures, if you add them in the app.First things first, this isn't an "Itari" label maker, it's a Phomemo. I don't know why the product page lists Itari. The name is blocked out in the product pictures but it says right at the top of the device under the mushroom logo "Phomemo."Second, it comes charged - mine was about 75% according to the battery readout on the screen. So you can get started immediately like I did, but if you need to charge it, it comes with a USB-C to standard USB cable. It includes a small roll of 40mm x 30mm label paper so if you're planning on a lot of labels, be sure to buy a full-size roll along with the printer. You have to download the Printmaster app, which I did on my iPhone. You can't do anything with the printer without it. Once I did that, I opened the app and it connected to the printer. You can then design your label. It asks you to identify the label type you're using. If you're using the included roll then it's "Cut Label." You can also specify "Black Mark Label" or "Continuous Label." In addition, you can tell it the size of the labels and the orientation of the label along with mirroring the printing on the label. Tap "Confirm" and then you can design your label. It includes some simple tools like shapes, tables, lines in addition to text, borders, and icons. There are also options for creating barcodes or QR codes. You can also import an Excel spreadsheet, which I didn't try.I added a picture from my iPhone's library and printed it to see what the quality was like and for what it is, it's pretty decent. It's black print on white and it's grainy, but very clear - think of newsprint quality. It's not going to blow you away with photo quality but used to print something identifiable by sight instead of text to describe it, it's fine. Obviously, the better the quality of the photo, the better the print will look. Lighting the subject well against an uncluttered background well help immensely. It prints almost instantly when you hit the button and the resulting print doesn't smudge (since it's not ink - it's heated into the label material which is plastic-y (or maybe just plain plastic?) The labels are very sticky but I was able to peel it off the faux-wood table I just stuck one on, and it appears to retain its stickiness so they may be reusable.Overall I am really impressed.

Not very intuitive. I found it hard to get setup
Not very intuitive. I found it hard to get setup. Once its working its a handy little printer. I bought it for labeling bins. I was getting tired of the expensive name brand label tapes.

Great little label maker to have around
I have the old school type of label maker that you have to buy the special cartridges of tape and you can only print, at most, 2 lines of text in the usual generic font. I was looking for something small that I can easily throw in a backpack yet print different size labels - sort of like on your printer. One of my friends had a similar type of label maker and I like the versatility so went looking for one. The Itari label maker seemed like one I could give a try as it seemed like it fit my needs. It has and so far it has been great, not just for me but my wife as well.First thing that I liked about it was its compact size. It's roughly 6x6x3, which means it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Easily fit in a backpack or purse and doesn't weight much (most of the weight come from the label roll actually). I like the fact that you can use different size labels in it up to a little over 3". No more of the plastic like labels or having to wait until you get to your computer and printer to print labels. You can print on the go. The label maker is just a printer. All the settings and customization is done through the app. The app has a fairly good selection of designs, fonts and embellishments to make your labels look nice. Just bluetooth pair your device to the label maker and you're ready to go. It says that it is thermal, but when I think of thermal printing, it reminds me of the cheap receipt type of printing you get at the gas station or signing when you pay with a credit card - light, fades, etc. When I printed with the label maker, the print came out dark black, like when you use an ink jet. I'm assuming that since it is thermal, it always be that way, unlike an ink cartridge. . . could be wrong on that. Another benefit was no smudging like with ink.The included labels are a decent size and its easy to find other size labels on Amazon so no worries there. My wife liked the label maker so much she started labeling everything in the pantry. She could have done it along time ago with regular printer labels, but having it right there to create, print and stick the labels on the stop made a difference for her.To sum it all up, this has been a great little printer. It has filled my need and has been just as good as my friends one so I have no complaints. I recommend it if you have a similar need as me.,Great little label maker/printer. The label maker comes with a roll of labels, a usb charging cable and is about 75% charged so it’s ready to be used out of the box. There is a short “quick start guide” booklet with simple instructions on how to install the roll of labels. There is also a pamphlet with QR to download the app on your phone. Very simple, easy to follow instructions. The app allows for various font size to be printed on the label. Print labels within seconds.Simple instructions, easy to use and best of all, the label refills are fairly cheap and comes in different sizes. Overall, it’s a great little label maker.

Great, compact label maker
I own a label maker already, but I liked that this is bigger and can accommodate various sizes. It included an instruction manual and a quick-start guide. Both contained a lot of the same information, although I found the instruction sheet a little easier to decipher. The labels are already loaded, you just have to remove a little piece of tape to get started. The machine is a nice compact size and it already came almost fully charged. There’s an app that you download and it walks you through each step. I found it to be fairly user-friendly, especially compared to my other label maker. I initially tried making an address label but didn’t realize there was a template until after I’d finished. I added a butterfly icon; however, I think it might’ve been too intricate as most of the detail was lost. The spacing on one of the words also looked off. I adjusted it so the text didn’t come as close to the border and that seemed to fix the issue. I also swapped the picture for a less detailed one and it came out much better. I just did a quick Thank You label that I included it in one of my pictures to give you an idea. Part of the border got cut off, but not too bad. I think I’ll play with the settings to see if that helps. I do like that it prints multiple lines. The adhesion is decent - they stick to most surfaces, but can peel off easily if needed. I’m happy with it so far.
