I just built a screened in porch on our back deck which has a roof. The main thing to start it all was putting up the 4x4's and then adding the 2x4's. With these base plates it made it so easy to get them in place, plumb and true. the porch is 13' x 22'. I needed (5) 4x4s as the foundation. I think I would have lost my mind getting them in place without these. And they look nice and disappear since the wood was all sprayed black.

We haven't installed these yet but I don't see any problem since they're heavy guage metal. Only thing I'd say is maybe a flange all around the bottom instead of two sides.

Set posts in my shop. Easy, sturdy, reliable.

Used these mounts on a front porch installation that I just completed. Really good quality & well made but the only downside was that the hardware ( lag bolts) should've been the same color as the post mounts instead of stainless steel. Had to spend about another $30 for matching hardware but still cheaper than Lowe's.

Well built and easy to install. The Post covers sold by Home Depot didn’t fit over the supports so took a post support to another big box store and found one that did.
