Precision PowerTRAX2.800D 2 Channel Car Stereo Amplifier, 800 W Peak 400 W RMS 2 Ch Amp

Precision Power was a top brand way back when I built stereos for my car. That was in the early 1990's. This amp is now made in China, so no its not the same. I bought this for my son's car and I am pleased to say I am happy to report that it is great for what it is! It is pushing a kicker ts 10 sub in my sons vw eos. It is bridged to a two ohm load and with the sub rated at 150 watts rms, it pushes it with ease. It gets warm, but not hot. I would expect it would do it all day and not over heat. It could handle two subs with out worry. I have purchased several lower cost chinese amps and for subs this one is by far the best of the lot! If i was running two subs, I would buy a solid copper 8 guage wire install kit. I am using a cheap copper clad aluminium wire kit, and am not concerned because of just pushing one sub. The amp comes with a 35 amp fuse, witch for us nerds means 35 amps times 12 volts equals 420 watts total input power. Thats a load of power outside of competition! Pair with quality subs with 150 - 200 watts rms and enjoy. Less wattage does not mean less volume, it is just a measurement of how hard it is to push a speaker. I personally like Dayton classic subs from parts express that can be purchased on amazon. I did not use them this time because of lack of room with a metal folding roof. Not as small and compact as the modern amps that are out right now but it’s very clear I wouldn’t say it’s super powerful I would recommend if you have the space. It has been very reliable and easy to wire up.

Only thing is that I like having the option for high level input but other than that it's done fairly well for my home theater system..
