I also bought it for it's depth thinking I could put cash and coin in that section. I can definitively put coin in the zipper section, although it has a black interior making it a little difficult to see what coins you have. Because of the design of the zipper it doesn't really let you put cash in unless you fold your cash into quarters, half folded bills you will not be able to get in and out. Had the end of the zipper been allowed to extend outside of the case it would allow for better access. By being sewn in it makes the opening awfully tight. I am able however to put cash in one of the sleeves which might work.
