Failed 2nd time out
Purchased on June 8th and delivered on June 9th. didn't want to wait 3 days for OEM water pump. so I decided to purchase this from Amazon for next day delivery. (This is not Amazons issue) installed a few days later and took out for a sea trial and all seemed to be fine. left to go on vacation a week later, on the 3rd day of our fishing trip motor stated running hot. Took over 2 1/2 hours to go 7 miles. after we got back to the dock I put boat on the trailer looking for what cause issue. It coudn't be the the water pump impeller because I just replaced it? After a couple of hours wife and I decided to drop the lower unit and this is what we found a broken impeller. Went to local dealer and purchased new OEM impeller and reinstalled and boat motor is working great. The bottom line is to use quality OEM parts. By the way I have alot of experience, been working on boat motors for over 30 years so I know what i'm doing. As you can see in the photos 2 of the 6 six ears broke and 2 more have cracks in them. I'm very lucky I didn't destroy my motor
