What are the specific dimensions of the top shelf where a turntable would sit?

The size of the top layer that can store the turntable is 17.4 * 15.75 inches, which can store most record players.

The instructions are wrong on step 2. Can anyone help me with proper instructions? I can’t find anything online

I had no trouble at all putting mine together the other week. The instructions were perfectly fine. The key is to pay attention the groves, holes, etc... and how they face. Also look very closely at he pictures to see which way the grooves are facing.
