ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent, Alpine Clean, 9.56 lb, 155 Loads - AND 4 MONTHS!!!
This stuff is remarkable. I hate to even write this review for fear they will change or discontinue it now that I'm keyed in. To the point - it does a better job than any liquid I've tried. It runs circles around liquids for both stain/dirt removal and for deodorizing. Plus, you only need a small amount, I use 1/8-1/4 of the cup that is provided. I purchased my last box on 05/28/2025, and I'm here today to finally buy more. It is 09/30/2025. 4 months on the dot. And at $15 a box, that is the best value in laundry detergent there that I can find. There are only 2 adults in my household we do make a lot of dirty laundry to the tune of 2 loads a day on average, so the detergent was in regular full use the whole 4 months just to give you an idea of my usage. I've always been a price conscious laundry detergent shopper, but the reason I bought this was actually for performance reasons. The fact it is so much cheaper was just gravy. I had gotten sick of how terrible my front-load HE washing machine is at getting clothes clean. Even with all the tricks to bypass most of the HE "enhancements" and using top-o-the-line liquid detergent, I felt like things just don't reach the level of clean I like. And I'm not falling for the "boosters" scam either, maybe I'm crazy, but buying a "booster" to use in every single wash to get it clean is idiotic, the soap companies made their soap less effective and to get the full cleaning power back, you now have to pay for an upgrade (granted, the oxyclean odor blaster and white revive add-ins are amazing, but I shouldn't need to use for every single wash). I began doing some searching and after way too many hours on reddit threads about doing laundry, one thing kept getting mentioned over and over, people have been switching back to powder detergent because it got their clothes significantly cleaner (for those that have newer front loading HE machines). I've read a few theories as to why this is so, the most common and most plausible is that the powder adds a mechanical scouring action into the mix, but it dissolves, so I don't know how much of an impact there could be for maybe 5-10 min of having grit it your wash (longer in cold, shorter in hot, obviously). Then the other reasons for better performance have to do with chemistry, which is when I stop reading. I know this getting long but, I must point out of the converts to powder, the lions share switched to this as it's considered to be better than Tide amongst the Laundry Literatti on reddit. They weren't wrong. They preached "less is more" with this stuff, one going as far as suggesting 6 tablespoons per load. That's a bit extreme for me, but I still only do an 1/8-1/4 of the scooper that comes inside. If I used as much as the box and scooper suggest, they'll never get fully rinsed. TIP - I do always set my machine to run a 2nd rinse cycle now, and I think that's key in getting to work so well. Of course, I still keep bottles of a "for darks" type of liquid for delicates, darks, special items that I want to wash on cold and use a gentle wash. But everything else gets the powder. My only complaint is that Amazon only carries this in the one scent, which is a fine scent, not over powering, is pleasant, I just like a little variety and switch things up once in a while. It lasts so long that even just having a 2nd option to alternate between would be sufficient. But I digress. TLDR: Is good

good value, free and clear powder detergent
I switched to this detergent years ago and I can't imagine using any other. It just cleans well, leaves my clothes feeling fresh, and doesn't have any unnecessary fragrance found in other detergents that would always make me itch. Plus I think the baking soda really makes a difference with my whites. The box is recyclable and convenient to use, and it always seems to be among the more affordable detergent brands. Highly recommend arm and hammer free and clear!

Reliable Cleaning Power and Freshness in a Value-Sized Box
The ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent in Alpine Clean is an "outstanding" choice for households looking for a high-performance detergent that offers incredible value. Designed to tackle tough stains while leaving clothes smelling crisp, this 155-load box is a heavy-duty worker in the laundry room that "works extremely well" for everyday needs. Cleaning Performance Baking Soda Power: Infused with genuine Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, this detergent doesn't just mask odors—it neutralizes them at the source, making it highly effective for gym clothes and towels. Tough on Stains: The powder formula is specifically designed to break down dirt, grass, and food stains, ensuring that whites stay bright and colors remain vibrant. HE Compatible: It is formulated to work in both standard and high-efficiency (HE) washing machines, dissolving quickly even in cold water cycles. Scent and Value Alpine Clean Fragrance: The scent is inspired by the outdoors, providing a refreshing, "alpine" aroma that makes laundry day feel a little more invigorated. Bulk Savings: With 155 loads per 9.56 lb box, this is a highly economical option that reduces the frequency of trips to the store, making it a favorite for large families. Final Verdict If you prefer a powder detergent that delivers consistent results and a fresh scent, this Arm & Hammer variety is a top-tier contender. It is "super effective" at deep cleaning while remaining one of the most cost-proactive options on the market.

My favorite laundry detergent!
This cleans so well. Our clothes don't smell like anything when they come out of the wash which is what I love about this laundry detergent. In the past when I have used scent free detergents after a couple months our clothes would start to smell moldy and I would go back to tide original. Not this detergent it cleans great, is reasonably priced, and I don't have the strong laundry detergent smell all over my house.

Best bang for your buck
I think it’s the best but at the moment. Smells good. I use more than you’re supposed to. Otherwise there’s no detergent smell hardly after drying

Good affordable detergent
This is a great economical choice for laundry detergent. It smells good and cleans well. It doesn't have a long lasting scent like others do (Gain or Tide), but for the price, it is worth it for me. Be aware that in shipping the box isn't totally sealed and some of the powder can come out, especially if it is getting delivered with other things. Also, when you open it, some powder is bound to come out, so there's some clean up involved then. But otherwise, great affordable detergent.

Got cigarette smell out
Got this for my baby’s clothes since I needed something for sensitive skin and for it to be not too expensive, work for cloth diapers, and get all the yuck out. I was pleasantly surprised that it was able to get cigarette smell from a present u had received from a family member out in one wash! Great soap!
