Great Computer for the Money
Well, I bought this computer a year ago, because I wanted a new computer with Windows 11 in it and I couldn't upgrade my old one to work with Windows 11. I like this new computer it works great for me and it's so much faster than the old one was. I have had this for over a year now and the computer is great, but I'm not sure how I like Windows 11 yet, but that's another story.

learning windows 11 is difficult
The PC is fairly easy to get up and running. Quick to boot up However, it is a very difficult transition to windows 11. Its very difficult to get real tech support just short email reply's. My first computer was a 286 that I bought in 1990. 35 years on computers and so far, window 11 is about as difficult as it was to learn dos. I'm hoping for smother days. If you are familiar with windows 11 this a good computer especially for the money.

Nice quality pc
This computer is very fast, it copies files extremely fast and it's totally silent compared to my old W10 pc. The set up was very quick, took maybe 10 minutes to do but the automatic updates took another 20 minutes and it automatically saw my wifi connection right away. The only thing I found that I didn't like about it is the quality of sound, I'm using my old W10 speakers where the quality was much better. I did install FxSound and that fix the sound quality, it's now better than my W10. Overall I'm very happy with this pc, it's a nice pc for it's low price.

Replaced Windows 10 Tower
My Windows 10 tower did not meet specs for the free Windows 11 upgrade. After 3 days of research on this HP Tower 290 G( - 16GB, 256 SSD, I core 3, I decided to order it. I'm 82 by the way. I received the Tower quickly. Changing the connected USBS, Monitor connection, etc from the 10 Tower to the 11 Tower was easy. Everything powered up the way it was supposed to and I was able to access Windows 11 with no problem. Read all instruction windows carefully and you should be OK. I transferred my copied documents and pictures from Windows 10 to 11 with no problem and was able to import all of my bookmarks. I use a separate and older Microsoft Works 9 (2007) for my word processor, spread sheets, etc.! It installed easily. I also have a 15 year old Canon Pixma MP240 that installed with no problem. I hope this review will alleviate any doubt or anxiety about ordering this product. I've arranged my home screen to look exactly like my Windows 10 did and I'm having no problem accessing anything from the files or the internet (AT&T Fiber Optic).

DO NOT PURCHASE
Do not purchase this tower or anything from HP for that matter. A few months into owning this unit it would take about 20 minutes to boot up. I attempted to get support from HP but no solutions helped. I took the computer to a local professional where he found some serious manufacturing issues internally. -The cooling fan was very loose -The 1 TB hard drive wasn't registering in the system -There was a damaged cable connected to the hard drive. I then attempted to submit a warranty case as it was supposed to come with a one year warranty and I was easily within that period based on the purchase date from Amazon. When I submitted the case the SN on the unit said the warranty had started 6 months before I actually purchased it and therefor was not within the one year warranty period. I submitted purchase receipts to HP support and have followed up four times with zero response. I will happily remove this review if HP will make this right but I don't see that happening.
