I've always used glass cake stands, without a cloche covering, but they can be quite cumbersome especially when gifting a cake for a gathering.This imitation glass 'crystal' cake stand is far preferable. It has a subtle sheen and is well proportioned. I love it's traditional, elegant design.The height is 2cm more than most glass stands, and the generous lid really sets the display off handsomely. Simple decorative details on the stem and lid really makes this a very attractive centrepiece.I really appreciate that the base and knob of the lid are detachable, it makes very practical for storage or to place a cake in the fridge protected by the lid but without the raised up base. Also, this stand has handles which are very useful and most welcome.To my mind this is the best cake stand available.

The description it is a bit confusing as it says crystal and that's why I bought it but it is plastic, very sturdy light and still doing the job.
