RD23

I have a few of these mini DAB/FM radios now which have the convenience of an actual speaker as well as a personal headphone socket and after a week or so I have to say this is the best one in the budget range that I've tried so far. Especially the quality of the speaker is excellent for such a small device, easily good enough for a kitchen/bedroom radio and quite pleasant to listen to news/culture and sports channels like BBC/LBC/Talk Sport with very clear audio. I also like the basic shiny black plastic shell, thank god they haven't coated it in that terrible rubber film that feels good for a few months and then deteriorates into a sticky mess making the device unusable. The reception on both FM and DAB is good once you find a good position for the radio but does need the rather flimsy antenna fully extended. I am in a strong reception area so this is not a big problem for me but the radio may struggle with reception in other areas of the country. The controls are basic with six preset buttons and up to 40 available in total by fiddly scrolling through a list, but I do like the dial control for the volume, just like on older analog radios it's much smoother and quicker to control than using buttons. (Unfortunately, like most digital radios the lowest volume level is not low enough, especially for night listening with the radio near your pillow - why doesn't the volume decrease to zero smoothly?) No headphones are included in the package and the charging port is the old-fashioned micro-USB type, but a cable is provided and the radio works fine while charging.

I was keen to obtain a portable DAB radio, but was sceptical about how good the reception would be. I finally plumped for the Raddy RD23, and so far I am very happy with my purchase. The sound quality and reception are more than acceptable, I was able to obtain the channels I wanted, and the radio is only about the size of a mobile phone, so highly portable. As other reviewers have noted, the aerial does seem a little flimsy, but so long as you are careful this shouldn't be a major issue. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Tiny radio that has decent and pleasant sound for such a small device. Doesn't sound tinny, although obviously not loads of bass. Reception is good with the aerial up. Not sure why the slim aerial is criticised so much - the device is small and wouldn't accommodate a normal sized one. Quick to set up and super fast station scrolling makes up for the limited display. I did find the bluetooth connection has an annoying background whine, though. Loses a mark for that. Overall a great little device, especially at the discounted price.

Does the job, much smaller than I was expecting. Tuning is a breeze as you’d expect with DAB, and switching stations is quick and easy. The only slight concern is how thin the arial is, it looks and feels like it will break with very little force. Other than that, I'm pleased with it and it does what it’s meant to.

Excellent 9 hrs play with speaker playing, 4 hrs to charge. Telescopic aerial tip a bit delicate fully extended. I use the usb charging cable as the aerial. Loop it from charge to usb socket to form a loop and put the loop round your neck and hang the radio on your chest. Works really well. Excellent sound through speaker

It was wonderful in the beginning but soon lost the capacity to scan and store, the off/on switch a bit tricky, came off but was OK attaching it back: was excellent when working so disappointed

I bought this for the wife to use at the stables when she is doing her jobs. What a good little thing it is. She is well chuffed with it. Sound quality is good and she can listen to her rave, Davy quavey music whilst she is doing the horse and her jobs. Snall enough to hang in the stable without bothering the pony and loud enough to hear the music. Definitely recommend for not only good quality but for value as well.

Pros: Small. good reception on both FM and DAB. One of the best speakers for it's size I've come across. MP3 Playback. 50 presets on both FM and DAB. Thumbwheel volume control, Fairly intuitive controls. Decent battery life. Cons : Cheap looking "Piano black" finish Very small display. USB Socket and numeric key pad of doubtful utility Bought this to replace my danaged Azatom and it's a good choice. Performance is similar and has MP3 playback too. MP3 playback limited to sequential file playback buttu not a problem for me as I use it mainly for audibooks. A large colection of songs for instance would quickly become unmanageable but this is true of the limited number number of DAB radios which even offer MP3 playback. 6 numeric buttons for direct entry of presets seems a bit supurfluos as the radio offers 50 in both modes but the keypad only allows direct selection of first 6 in your preset list. After that it's arrow buttons for the the other 44! The space would have been better used for a larger display. Supurfluous USB ssocket. Is any one really going to plug a pendrive into a pocket radio for MP3 playback when there is a microSD card slot right next to it! A fairly barebones radio with no equaliser (presets or manual), sleep timer, display brightness/timeout adjustment etc. but the recption and sound quality are good from speaker or headphones and this is what matters to me most. After all you're not buying a HiFi system. It is worth noting that the radio uses the telescopic antenna even when earphones are plugged in. It's hard to criticisise but a larger display instead of the keypad and USB socket (both of doubtful value) would have made it a game changer at the price.

Great radio, no issue, just wish to have the option to connect to bluetooth ear buds, or bluetooth headphones, dont need to stream music to the radio from phone using bluetooth, should have been the other way round

Das Radio ist handlich klein und trotzdem hochwertig mit einem sehr guten Ton und hoher Empfangsstärke. Was leider nicht in der Produkbeschreibung steht ist das man bei DAB+ und Bluetoothempfang eine Stereowiedergabe hat das das Produkt hochwertiger macht! Der Lautsprecher ist durch neueste Technologie, denke ich, trotz kleiner Abmessung in der Klangqualität sehr gut mit einem ausgewogenen Klangbild von den tiefen bis zu den hohen Tönen, das toll ist. Obwohl die LCD Anzeige bauformbedingt klein ist, kann man die Schrift gut lesen und durch Betätigung irgendeiner Taste wird die Displaybeleuchtung eingeschaltet und schaltet sich nach ein paar Sekunden wieder ab, stromsparend. Durch den hochwertigen eingebautem Chip werden sehr viele über die Modetaste abrufbare Informationen zum Sender angezeiigt. Beim automatischen Senderdurchlauf werden alle empfangbaren Sender gespeichert und man kann auch 6 Sender über die nummerischen Tasten durch längerem Drücken der Tasten 1 bis 6 zusätzlich speichern, aber nach dem Suchlauf werden mindestens 60 Sender gespeichert, die mit den Pfeil links und rechts angewählt werden können. Die Bluetoothfunktion dient dazu das Radio als Lautsprecher zu verwenden aber der wiedergegebene Ton kann etwas leiser sein, abhängig der Tonquelle, aber ausreichend., gut aber wenn man kabelgebunden Kopfhörer hat, die an der Klinkenbuchse angeschlossen sind dadurch kann man sie wie Bluetoothkopfhörer verwenden. Habe einfache Kopfhörer von Panasonic, die in Verbindung mit dem Gerät einen schönen Stereoklang wiedergeben. Die USB Buchse dient nur zur Aufladung es internen Akkus und während der Aufladung kann man das Gerät erst nach einen gewissen Aufladestand während der Ladung wieder verwenden. Man kann auch eine Speicherkarte einstecken um MP3 Musik abzuspielen, aber mit wenigen Bedienfunktionen die aber ausreichend sind. Die ausziehbare Antenne ist am Ende recht dünn und ist mit Vorsicht zu handhaben, kann leicht umknicken oder sogar abbrechen, da, made in China, problematisch, Ersatzteile zu bekommen, also pfleglichst handhaben, am Besten den dünnen Teil der Antenne einfach nicht rausziehen, da der Empfang für die meisten Sender noch ausreichend ist. Leider dauert die Aufladung etwas lang, hat vielleicht den Vorteil das der Akku etwas länger hält. Bin sehr zufrieden, tolles DAB + Radio, nur könnte der Akku etwas größer sein, er würde noch gut ins Gehäuse passen, Preisfrage?

Bardzo dobre mini radyjko , bardzo dobry odbiór! nawet ze schowaną anteną, super dźwięk biorąc pod uwagę urządzenia nie można za tą cenę się do czegoś przyczepić jedynie może włącznik urządzenia mógł by być naciskany a nie przesuwany ;)
