ONLY for barking
This collar pretty much does what it says. Every time there is a bark, the collar vibrates. (There are stronger and softer vibration settings.) If there are multiple barks in one minute, the number of vibrations increase.Probably somewhere in the description it says this only works for barking, but I was going a bit insane by the time I ordered it. The collar does not respond to howling or any other loud noise/decibel level; just sharp barking right at the collar.I purchased this because I was cat-sitting. (Yes, I know this is a dog collar. Any user issues were probably related to that, and I bought this knowing full-well that it might not work. But this cat was yelling so loudly, so often, that I was going out of my mind.)Shipping was excellent. I really appreciated the inexpensive expedited option and received the collar in just a couple days. For charging, the wall output needs to be 5V. I'm not sure what I have, but my plug for charging my cell phone was not correct. However, I was able to charge the collar by plugging the USB into my laptop. The collar is adjustable and was even able to fit quite nicely on a 6kg cat.Ultimately, the cat's yelling/howling/screaming did not have the sharpness of barks, so the collar never vibrated from this. Because I couldn't handle it...whenever he yelled, I'd get up, cup the collar in my hand, and bark. It's extreme...but it worked. He began to be deterred from making quite so much noise. I obviously wasn't able to do this every time; if I had, it might have been more effective. If you have a stubborn dog, I'd really recommend getting a collar with a shock option. Even if you don't use it a lot, at least you can if you really need to.For cats, I found a cat collar on Amazon US; it was just twice as expensive, and I wouldn't have lasted that long waiting for it to be shipped. Maybe in the future there will be more options.Anyways, good luck with your noisy pet!

Miracle worker!
I can’t tell you how much this has changed our lives. Our dog barks if people don’t make a fuss of him and goes mental when we come home from shopping etc. This gives 3 loud ‘beeps’ then vibrates when he barks and now we have 1 bark and no more! He’s learnt that when he hears the ‘beep’ he’s going to get a vibration and immediately freezes. I have to be honest and say that I thought I’d killed him the first time it vibrated because he had such a fright but the product doesn’t hurt at all, I’ve got it set on number 1 and it’s just a gentle vibration but enough to stop him in his tracks. The charge is amazing, only needed charging after 10 days and charges extremely fast. Can’t recommend this enough.

Worked instantly!
This is a great concept and very effective. It obviously isn't a replacement for good training and isn't something I would suggest permanently having on your dog. I used it initially at times when habit and self satifying barking happens, like at animals on the telly, demand barking and peaple walking by the house. It worked straight away and reduced barking to a degree even after the collar was removed. As another review said, the 'prongs' are pretty pronounced and for my two Norfolk Terriers they were far too big and unnecessary, so I sawed them off and put some tape over the back instead.I'm not sure about them only reacting to the sound of their own bark because I haven't used them near any other dogs, but if one of my dog barks next to the other, both collars can go off (not a bad thing in their case). All in all, really impressed by these and would recommend them!

It does exactly what it says on the tin
I was a bit dubious about buying this for my dog as I thought it wouldn't make a difference with her barking but how wrong was I.We have only put this on her in certain times of the day (putting our shoes on, walking through the front door from work)This really has made such a difference to our life's.Once she makes that first initial bark then the coller bleeps 3 times and vibrates, once that has happened she does not bark again. We can come in from work with one bark and a happy waggy tail instead of a constant bark which we used to get. This really does work and doesn't harm the dog what so ever.Best £16 I have ever spent.I would just recommend to put it on when there's certain times of the day when you know the dog will bark.Hopefully soon we can remove this coller when needed and she will be re trained when it comes to barking.

Seems to have worked! **If your are worried about your pet please read below!''
I brought this as my dog used to bark at anything going past the house, we used it on the low setting for one day and it seemed to stop him barking straight away. I did feel a bit bad for putting it on him.BUT! i tried the next day by turning to max setting but instead of putting it on my dog, i attached it to the blinds (where he barks) and its done the same job, The vibrations and noise stops him straight away as much as if he was wearing it! So if you do not feel like putting it on your dog, try putting it in the same area and it will still pick the sense of the bark and activate!

Great product
Fab product I only wanted something to deter my dog from barking at passers by on the regular. We only use it in the evening for a short time. It’s done the trick he’s more reluctant to bark which is fine I’m ok with the occasional woof.If you have 2 dogs the other ones bark will sets it off, my female dog doesn’t bark often but since we have this she has started barking more and sadly it sets his collar off so have purchased a second collar to deter her also.

Worked well short term! Still fairly good now.
Our dog barks at anything that moves, not ideal in a quiet town either. This device definitely stopped the barking to begin with whilst being friendly/non harmful. Whilst it still does work occasionally, our dog has started to push past it/get used to the vibration, although I do have to say it's definitely quietened the barks overall. I'd imagine it's different with every dog, so why not give it a try.

They work when worn
Have said the above because as soon as I take it off my jack russell he knows he can bark freely .however as I have two terriers the relief when they are on is great -
