I have multiple tips with tip adapters at 8mm, both male and female, and none of them will fit this thread.Thread is possibly custom size or specific to company…

Gear spear for lionfish, but don’t try to spear anything bigger because it will bend and break. True story lol.

Poor quality and durability
So I bought this for freshwater use in a local quarry. I received the spear and assembled it only to find it was rickety and was missing two of the rubber rings. I went to the quarry regardless attempting to make the best of my purchase but on the third shot the nylon string snapped that held the elastic band. My spear sunk to the bottom of the quarry. If you feel like throwing money into a pit this is the product for you. Your better off buying one from a store.
