I am 67 with combination skin that is mostly dry but with a little oil in the t-zone. Until Ilia, I had never tried a clean beauty foundation that I thought was as effective as my regular brands. Now, I have 3 Ilia serum foundations - this more traditional medium coverage no spf version as well as 2 light coverage ones with spf and I absolutely love all three of them. I use this medium coverage foundation whenever I want a more polished, flawless look. It gives a natural, skin-like luminous finish and looks fresh all day. Since I switched to Ilia foundations my generally good skin (for my age) has improved noticeably. The skincare ingredients that are infused into the foundations are the real deal and simplify one’s life. I could absolutely have used this True Skin one when I was younger and had oilier skin, the serum-style foundations tend to be oilier and I’m not sure about them. I will say that using the Ilia serum foundations has improved my slight rosacea and eliminated all of my dry spots; my forehead was always dry no matter what I did and that problem is gone. Bottom line: If you are looking for a clean foundation with excellent performance and medium but very natural luminous coverage, I highly recommend this product.

Coverage: Unlike other hydrating foundations, this one dries down to a satin finish fairly quickly (I’d say 5-10 minutes). I actually loved that finish more than I thought I would because I’m a dewy girl typically. I got light coverage by dabbing the foundation on face and blending out. I got medium coverage when I dipped my kabuki into foundation and applied to my face. I haven’t tried building layers since I’m not a layer girl and light/medium coverage is my preference.Wear: I didn’t notice any creasing, but I did use their serum primer which should help with that. Honestly with light/med coverage, I find it difficult to see when makeup starts wearing off. I will say that I can normally see my nose pores after a full day of work, but they were still covered with this Ilia foundation, so that’s a good sign. Since I have dry skin, I don’t set my makeup with powder so my wear time is reduced. Side note, I’ve heard good things about the Ilia powder so I’m going to give it a shot. Fingers crossed that it’s another win.Hydration: More than anything else, I love how this foundation does not dry out my skin. It’s been years since I’ve used a foundation that didn’t leave me with dry spots on my nose and around my mouth within 2-3 hours. With Ilia, I have no issues with flakes. It’s an absolute game changer for me! One time, I actually forgot to apply moisturizer to my nose because I was rushing. Even then, I had just a few, tiny dry skin flakes on my nose AND it’s the middle of a winter. I was so impressed!Color: I recommend looking at the Ilia site for guidance on which foundation color is for you. I’ve heard some complaints that the color is dull, and before the Ilia foundation dried down , I was a little worried about that too. However, once it’s dry, it looks so naturally beautiful, like a healthier version of your own skin. For those that like more glow, I’ve seen some use Ilia highlighter serum under the foundation. I might try that in the future.Bottom line: I absolutely adore this foundation. It looks so good that I’m actually wearing foundation to work again. I haven’t done that in years because of the flakiness of my previous foundations. It may be on the pricey side, but it is worth it to me. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

After watching an Instagram influencer apply Ilia makeup I wanted to purchase everything she used. And I did buy what was available. This stuff is so popular several of the items in this line are sold out everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. It’s frustrating. This foundation is great as long as you don’t need full coverage. For reference I just turned 60 and I have freckles and other issues that need color correcting. So in addition to using this foundation I have to use other products if I want to cover everything up. If I’m just at home or only have to run a few errands this stuff is great. It goes on well and doesn’t settle too badly into fine lines. I find it works best applied with my fingers. Then I go over it with a brush and buff it out. It’s clean and good light to medium coverage.

I got SF1 and love it. I have been looking for a clean foundation and this one has beautiful coverage and blends nicely

This product went on smooth and was build-able. My skin cleared when I started to use this foundation. It was lightweight and allowed my skin to breathe. However, it smeared off easily and did not last all day. I felt that I had to use a lot of this foundation in comparison to others I have used.

This foundation is great for dry skin since it is a bit oily when you first put it on. It is not full coverage but it is great at layering for more coverage. It is long lasting and has a very natural look to it.

I have ordered the shade Corsica for a few years. Sometimes through Ilia. Sometimes on Amazon. I have always loved it. The shade was good for me and the foundation itself was great.However, this last bottle I ordered on Amazon, was very orangey and I washed it off immediately because no way was I going out in public with it on.I'm not sure if their formula has changed, or if I got one of a bad batch but it was un-wearable. Maybe my skin has changed...I looked like an orangutan! This shade is marketed as "neutral," but mine definitely was not.Now I'm unsure if I should try to get it again directly from Ilia, or just give up. It's a shame because I really loved this foundation, and my skin loved it too. And we all know the struggle of trying to find the right shade and formula of foundation that looks good and agrees with our particular skin! It's worse than trying on jeans!

LOVE this brand of non toxic makeup! I have used this for 3 years thus far and it works best for my oily skin. Goes on a medium to light coverage, it can be buildable to full coverage. Makes the skin feel light and glowing! Will continue to buy!
