Gap Men's Essential Slim Fit Chino Pants

I buy these in bulk for my boyfriend, who needs business-casual trousers for work and has had trouble finding a good, flattering fit for his top-heavy torso paired with short, skinny legs (let’s just say he does NOT resemble the tall, slender model in the product image!). These pants, along with the Izod Men's Saltwater Stretch Flat-Front Chino Pants (also recommended), save the day: they can be worn flat-front or (my preference) creased; hold up to wear and repeated washing; and, of course, come in a variety of waist and inseam sizes. I like New Classic Navy (a dark navy that goes with almost everything and can read as casual or dressy) and Iconic Khaki (a true khaki: no yellowish undertones, not too dark or too light). My only gripes are 1) that they can get *really* wrinkly if I’m not careful when I take them out of the dryer AND 2) that it’s SUCH a pain to set and iron in a crease. (The latter is my own personal issue, since they aren’t made to hold a crease through washing — though they *do* hold it through wearing, thank goodness — but they look so much better with a crease, especially on my boyfriend who benefits from the leg-lengthening effect!) I wash on cold, regular cycle, and put them in the dryer on No Heat for a full cycle (sometime with a few minutes of Low Heat at the end of the cycle, sometimes not), then brush out the wrinkles by hand and hang right away. If I hang promptly and skip the crease, I can *sometimes* get away without ironing. (I think it’s the stretch fabric that causes these to wrinkle so easily.) I would consider giving 4.5 stars (for the wrinkling issue), but nobody’s perfect, and these pants certainly deserve 5 stars for overall quality.

GAP chino pants continue to prove why the brand has never failed me. They’re comfortable, fit exactly as expected, and arrived with no stains or damage. The price was reasonable, and the quality is consistently dependable. Thanks, GAP — solid work once again.

Great pants for my son who is in college - great fit and wash well

It's very comfortable on the waist, not too wide either, but a higher waist than many others I've tried, the fabric is soft, although a little on the thick side, more of a fall and winter kinda pants. I am a size 32 and had to return and size up to 34 for a better fit.

Bought these in two colors, the dark brown and indigo blue. Both pairs fit a little large, but after washing and drying, they fit perfect. My only complaint is the indigo blue is darker than pictured. Still look good and not quite navy dark, but was expecting a lighter shade of blue. Materials feel high quality and secure hardware (buttons/zipper). For reference, I’m 5’9” and hover between 155-165 lbs. I usually wear 32x32 or 33x32. Buy with confidence if you’re a similar build.

Fits just right

I owned several pairs of these pants, mostly for office use and wearing around town. I do some work supervising food service, so I do a lot of crouching, standing, kneeling, etc. Nothing rigorous, but maybe a little more than I would put a pair of dress pants through. These pants are comfortable and offer good freedom of movement, even while maintaining a semi-fitted look. Pockets are roomy without being obtrusive. They wash well and don't hold wrinkles out of the dryer. The sizing is a bit off--I was feeling good about my waist size in these pants, until I tried the same waist size in a couple of other brands. Then I realized that I wasn't as thin as I thought--I had to go up an inch to wear numerous other brands. A pair of these pants will probably last me between 4-6 months, wearing once or twice a week. I like a little more durability than that. For the price, though, I suppose this is ok. As my last pairs of these wear out, I will be replacing them with something else.

legó un poco retrasado pero me recibí la notificación por lo que no hay problema. El pantalón llego bien en su bolsa. Está muy bonito, me gustó mucho el color y tanto la cintura como el corte recto es correcto, ni muy amplio ni slimfit. La tela se ve de muy buena calidad, solo me lo he probado pero puedo decir que se siente cómodo, suave y ligero, para estos tiempos de calor aparenta ser muy adecuado. Necesito ajustar el largo porque soy talla de largo 28 y el pantalón viene 30 pero de ahí en mas todo bien, ya que lo use con gusto compartiré mis comentarios.

Not comfortable, -pulled at the knees, loose around hips and thighs-, despite the measurements and style matching my usual. Return rejected, the reason given was "Had no Invoice", yet 3 copies of the invoice had been enclosed.
