Kenny Loggins book
I have always loved Kenny Loggins and was intrigued with his life story!

Amazing that he's "Still Alright"
To say I was exhausted by the time I completed this book would be an understatement. For someone whose experienced such a soul searching life? Hampered in my opinion mainly by the use of too many drugs - too much alcohol and some compulsive-obsessive behaviors? It is a wonder he's lived to tell his story at 75! As a product of the "60's" years similar to him? All the stories and experiences are very familiar (as well as the places he's been) I can't argue his journey; rightfully his, but I think he missed "the boat" on collaborating more with some pretty wonderful people like Melissa Manchester and Dianne Warren. Ah, well, he succeeded in spite of all, didn't he? He's come "full circle" hasn't he? "Celebrate me Home" remains my favorite, poignant song of his and I would submit rounds out his life to where he FINALLY is.

Don't nobody worry about Kenny
Great read about a great singer, songwriter, performer and human being. Couldn't put it down. Saw him in concert pre pandemic and he was incredible. Still had the high notes and now I know how.

Some juicy tidbits and Loggins and Messina differences are unsparing
This was a good honest account of his career with plenty of insights. Boy did he and Messina not mesh! I would love to hear Messina's thoughts! And as an aside, I read a lot of music autobiographies, and too often they get bogged down in details about their getting taken advantage of with contracts and credits in the business world. Loggins actually doesn't dwell on that, but his quick hitting account of songwriting credit on "Conviction of the Heart" vs. Garth Brooks and "Standing Outside the Fire" is one delicious dish.

It was alright
While there were some interesting stories, the writing was not strong. I've been a fan since the Loggins and Messina days and unfortunately Loggins comes off a bit self-involved, not unusual for musicians by any means, but I had always thought of him as fairly down to earth. The book makes him out to be a shallow, clueless SoCal boy who mostly just got lucky. He's undeniably talented but I think he would have benefited by a ghost writer who could possibly have given him more depth than he appears to have.

He's still Alright!
I always enjoy bios and I thought I knew a lot about Kenny Loggins but I definitely learned new things. He was very open about his life and his insecurities, anxiety, heartbreaks and triumphs. I was a bit surprised that he downplayed his awesome talent for songwriting. It may have seemed like a work in progress to him but he is on a different level than most when it comes to songwriting. He is also a great vocalist and that didn't really come up but I guess we know that so it doesn't really matter. I was surprised that he did a lot of drugs in his younger years lol. I guess everyone did back then. I enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you are a fan of his music.

Wish I hadn't purchased this book.
As a long time Kenny Loggins fan, who had gone to many of his concerts and "meet and greets", I wish that I hadn't read this book. I saw Kenny as a wonderful down to earth man, whom I enjoyed talking with. This book portrays Kenny as a person who did whatever it took to achieve fame. It was difficult to read, unless you were also knowledgeable about all of the people that are mentioned in this book. I should have just spent time listening to my complete collection of his CD's. Sorry Kenny, this book doesn't represent you to be the person I saw in you!

A fun trip thru the career of Kenny Loggins.
“Still Alright” by Kenny Loggins is a fun trip thru his career. First of all the book is written in a way that it feels as if Kenny is sitting there telling you these stories. You “hear” his voice thruout. He co-writer did a stellar job organizing everything. Next up is the story itself. Kenny takes the reader back to his pre Loggins & Messina days and then on thru to today. Along the way you get a ton of backstage stories, how albums came to be, how songs came to be, which albums he likes, and those he doesn’t. The book is an easy read, at no point do you get bogged down with long winded stories that you want to flip thru. All in all I very much enjoyed this book and it got me digging out the old albums, and getting some I didn’t already have. If you are a Kenny Loggins fan, you’ll certainly want to read this. Hell, if you like “Yacht Rock” you’ll learn about its origins!

Happy with audio book but not delivery.
Very happy with the audio book but the deliverer left it on my front porch where I step out and I stepped onto the package. Luckily it's ok and so is my foot! Sincerely, Sue Green
