Should you find yourself in the US, needing to plug in a UK electrical appliance to your existing 220VAC outlet, this adapter will do the trick.

I needed an adapter to be able to plug into 220V socket where I had a different plug than socket. This served the purpose. Note: it is not a converter.

A 6-20R outlet supports 20 amps of power. Nothing that plugs into such an outlet should be rated for less than 20 amps. This device, rated for 10 amps if you believe the picture or 15 amps if you believe the description, is unsafe.

I bought this in order to plug my english teakettle into my american 240V nema 6-20 receptacle. It does the job! And if you have an electrician coming anytime soon, I highly recommend you have them install a 240V outlet on your kitchen counter. English teakettles work on american 240V current, and they heat up water three (not two as I'd expect, but three!) times faster than american kettles.This is rated 15A and the teakettle has a 13A fuse in the plug, so it shouldn't be starting any fires. Only downside is this seems to be the only version available on amazon and it comes in a 2-pack. I would happily have paid 2/3 the price for 1/2 the contents :) .

Light flimsy thin plastic feeling. But these were the only ones I could find on Amazon. You do get 2 though.
