58mm Bottomless Portafilter with Double Shot Filter Basket & Premium Walnutwood Handle, Portafilter Compatible with All Breville 58mm Machines, Espresso Accessories(Puck Screen)

The portafilter is less than a month old, and already broke. At least my factory Breville portafilter took 2+ years to break. This morning, as I was attaching the portafilter to the group head, the handle felt loose. I thought it simply needed to be tightened. But the handle became loose again, immediately. So I pulled on it gently, and the handle separated from the actual basket holder. What I do not understand is, why not have one single screw ran from the end piece, through the handle, to the basket holder??? Why a inch worth of screw directly threaded into wood? Now shopping for a all metal handle/portafilter or something actually strong. This is a beautiful design, and it feels very nice on my hands.....but it broke oh so easy. Too bad. I will be making a video online as well to show and tell.

With its walnut wood handle, this portafilter adds functionality and a touch of luxury to my morning coffee-making ritual. It fits my machine seamlessly and has a double-shot filter basket that produces some of the best espresso shots I've made in a while. Although the handle feels great, it's not as durable as the steel part, so you need to be careful while cleaning it. It gives my machine some character, looks great, and functions well.

Beautiful bottomless portafilter, however it doesn't seem to fit, or rather seat, quite right into the group head. It spits coffee out the top of the portafilter where it fits into the group head. Might return it, but I'll give it another couple of shots.

I hate to give bad feedback; but this portafilter is a poor design. The filter is just screwed into the wood handle and pulled out after only a few uses. However, it was a great looking piece!

The media could not be loaded.  I'm using the Morils bottomless portafilter (58mm) with a Breville Dual Boiler (920XL) espresso machine. It's a perfect fit in this machine.This portafilter has a nice heft to it. By comparison, the portafilter that came with the machine looks and feels cheap. The woodgrain texture on the handle is classy.The basket fits very tightly into the portafilter. At first I didn't think it was removable because it took so much force to separate them. But since there is no bottom, you can push the basket out from the bottom to remove it. I like to do this after every session to more thoroughly clean the pieces.Despite the niceties of this portafilter, I haven't made it my daily choice. The bottomless nature is nice for show and viewing the extraction texture, but the espresso tends to splatter and make a small mess on the machine and my countertop. The normal portafilter spout keeps the prep area cleaner.Edit (29-Sep-2023): The wooden part of the handle is attractive but a weak point in the design. After just a few uses I broke the handle while tightening it into the grouphead. The metal parts of the handle screw into the wood on both ends. If you use too much force the wood will tear, stripping the screw threads cut in the wood. It might be repairable with glue.

Not compatible with breville oracle touch

Ever since I got my espresso machine I wanted a bottomless portafilter. This one feels pretty quality, the wood part feels pretty well finished by the metal but at the end surprised me the most. The metal bit is solid metal so when you hold it by the end it pretty much all the weight is in your hand.

Nicely machined wood and handle portafilter. Brew and drip are pretty nice on my espresso machine too.

This Portafilter DOES NOT fit my Breville 920 espresso machine. The flanges (ears), are too wide. The description claims that it fits all Breville 58mm machines.
