Spectacular sound isolation for the money!
I'm just getting started with doing audiobook narration so I'm still using a USB condenser mic (Hyper X Quadcast), it works quite well but can pick up quite a bit of background noise. I also record in my dining room because trying to walk to the basement where I made a temporary studio with moving blankets is difficult right now. This isolation ball fits very well on my mic with the adapter and does an amazing job of clearing up that noise and making editing much easier. Just remember that you're going to need to crank up the gain, but, you'll have a much easier time with less noise to work around. Don't get shy about getting too close either, the pop filter works very well to help clean up a lot of the extra pops and sounds from ruining a good performance. I'd highly recommend this isolation ball, well worth the money.

looks ridculous but man it works
As an audio enthusiast dedicated to achieving pristine sound quality, I recently acquired the Microphone Pop Filter and Isolation Foam Kit, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. This combination has proven to be an indispensable asset to my recording setup, effectively tackling two crucial aspects of audio enhancement: eliminating plosive sounds and controlling room acoustics. Starting with the microphone pop filter, its impact on my recordings has been nothing short of remarkable. Plosive sounds and breath noise can often plague vocal recordings, but this pop filter's dual-layer mesh design acts as an impenetrable shield, diffusing the force of plosives while preserving the vocal clarity. Whether I'm recording podcasts, voiceovers, or singing, the pop filter ensures that my vocals remain smooth and free from any disruptive bursts of air.

Looks Like A Giant Eyeball, But It Does The Job Nicely
First of all, I'll say this right out of the gate in light of some of the other reviews I've read: The ball shield isn't meant to replace a good, soundproofed studio. It's meant to be one item in an arsenal of items. I have a 6x8 studio with decent soundproofing. I say decent because that's something I'm still working on improving a little at a time. I saw the mixed reviews on this and hesitated, but I went for it. It does very well. I put it on an Audio Technica 2020 mic. It fits tightly. Doesn't fall off no matter what position the microphone is in. That's really important to me since I like to have my microphone hanging upside down. It does great blocking excess sound around the microphone. It has certainly improved my audio quality. The pop filter is effective as well. For extra insurance I kept the sleeve windscreen on the microphone even inside the shield, but it's only as a failsafe. It's admittedly overkill. I've used it without the windscreen and it works fine. All that being said, what works for some may not work for others, depending on what you're recording and what microphone you're using. I do voiceover and podcast recording, and my voice is on the low end of the baritone spectrum. As stated above, my microphone is the Audio Technica 2020. It's ugly, sure, and if your mic arm is positioned wrong, you might get a scare walking into your studio and seeing what appears to be a big eye on the end of a stalk looking at you, but it works.

Great with reducing noise!
This isolation ball shield for my microphone is unbelievable! I'm recording an audiobook from a book I wrote and I've been going crazy trying to eliminate background sound. I've done everything including recording in the middle of the night so there is less outside noise. (I don't have a studio). This ball shield has solved my problem. It fits my microphone perfect, allowing for me to still access the volume button. Until I can get a more professional set up, I'm very pleased!

Maybe user error?
I used this on my mic. I still got echos and a lot of background noise. (Just from my small fan). I tossed it. Maybe it was user error on my part.

Works okay
I purchased this because I live on a busy road and am not able to record anything until late night or unless I go in the basement. I thought this would help a lot more than it did, but the only way it will be productive is to soundproof my entire room. When it is 1000% quiet, this works wonderfully, but any slight noise will still be picked up. In any case, it is still slightly better than the standalone pop filter that I was using before.

Works amazingly
So the foam is pretty thick, and it fits very snug on the mic. I didn't like how bulky it was at first for visual recording but I have grown to find it unique in frame. Visual it is pretty nice and audibly this thing makes a pretty decent difference. With a good idea of how to use a noise reducer with this filter, you can block out your cherry red switches pretty easily. It does still pick up your super loud clickies, but for just audio recording for audio's sake, this thing is worth it.

Works as described
Works as described. I used this on a Shure Mic and for some reason, the foam doesn't sit well on my stand. It's just loose. I put other material to fill the gap between the opening and the stand but it keeps toppling over with gravity. It still works considering but I wish it wouldn't rub on my mic.
