A very down to earth appraisal of the crazy shenanigans in our recent political history. Well observed and conveyed in a very funny style. Reading it as a whole (rather than columns in a newspaper over a long period) one can see the threads of chaos, ineptitude and sheer arrogance of the politicians WE ELECTED!!! A breath of fresh air!!!

Funny and entertaining but as others have pointed out, it does get a bit repetitive. It's a collection of columns, after all. Easy reading.

I have been reading Marina Hyde's column in the Guardian for years. To see that she has a column in the paper always cheers me up. In fact I have read all these before and enjoyed them immensely and like all classics they improve with age. Highly recommended. My only regret is that I have finished it.

The articles are well-written, but some of them are from quite a long time ago, so I had to keep looking things up to see what was being referred to.Some are better than others (or I liked them more), but in the end I gave up about three-quarters of the way through the book as I got weary of the negativity of the articles. One a week is probably enough.

This was bought for my husband who reads Marina Hydes comments in the Guardian. It’s not to my taste but for someone who enjoys her columns it’s a good gift especially for the hard to buy for. He enjoyed it so a success.

Ver witty take on our world. Sharp and insightful. Very quotable.

Even those of us who live across the pond can appreciate great writing that illuminates political events to which we normally don't attend. North American readers will find themselves up to date on that island's politics while being entertained by a writing style that is second to none. Highly recommended.
