Pleased, also see UPDATE
I regret not buying the higher watt motor for the longevity of this sander. This sander did a great job the belts that came with are good. Let the tool do the work. Run it up and as you pull back. Let the motor, do the sanding, up /back /sand with the grain. (not all over the place) This old deck restore was a terrific job. I am pleased. Fresh new deck restored and painted coming up. This 600-watt sander really knocked down the old deck's dry boards. I used 60 grit sandpaper to prep for filler and paint. Before sanding I set any raised deck screws with a nail punch. ......UPDATE: Being out of warranty. The internal belt drive wore out after heavy use. The sanding belt started slipping. I removed the small belt case it is three screws and replaced the drive belt. The sander is working great again I purchased three extra drive belts. I found online a match the Specs are belt 3m-201 15mm < I searched belt 3m-201 15mm they are a few bucks

OMG !
So I bought this belt sander, knowing that they can really help to remove a lot more material much faster than a palm sander, when it was needed. But holy $#!+ ! This thing is unbelievable ! I just finished a massive subwoofer box which needed some major sanding to make all the corners completely square.... On all 6 sides. Sanding has never felt so rewarding 🙂 Did the whole project on a single belt, and honestly, I think I could do two more boxes on the same belt. So what I learned was, the belts that come with it are probably enough. I bought about 15 more when I bought the sander, and so now I'm probably set for the life of the sander..... Heck, if it lasts that long, it will have paid for itself 20 X's over 🙂$40 ?!?! Are you freaking kidding me ? This thing easily worth $100 or more. Just couldn't be happier 🙂

Far better than what I expected
First time using this brand and I was truly impressed on how good this sander is. I have used Craftsman and DeWalt belt sanders and this one feels as good as those. The included clamps for using it fixed like a bench sander is really useful, the same for the speed adjusting wheel it has. Compared to others it's very lightweight but it doesn't feel cheap or badly made. The included sanding belts are good tooHowever it has two things that makes me rate it 4 stars. First is the dust catcher. I know, most of this are garbage and doesn't catch any dust but the problem with this one is that the tab that holds it in place doesn't hold it properly and after a few uses the pressure of the air and dust makes the little plastic box fly away making a big mess. I ended up screwing it to the body of the sander (like you can see in the pictures) and from time to time I remove it to clean it. Not a good solution but there was no other choice. My other complaint with it is that the small button to the side of the on/off switch, which is used to keep the sander running without pressing the trigger switch, popped off and the retaining spring on it broke. Now that button doesn't work anymore and I have to hold the switch constantly, for long jobs is really tedious but there's no way to repair it.Even with those problems I find this sander very useful and an excellent choice for it's price. If you are planning on using this continuously and everyday I would recommend other brands but for occasionall use and for novice woodworkers is one of the best options out there.

truly impressive
I rarely rate products as five stars and have never based a rating mostly on price. This belt sander is making me ignore that thought. For the price this belt sander is so outstanding that I can't say enough good things about it.The price of heavy duty, contractor grade, belt sanders is at least 3 times greater. I used this belt sander heavily to level warped wood on a deck. The only trouble I had was with the sanding belts. This unit is probably meant for less intensive use than a contractor would use it for but I have been truly impressed by how rugged it has been for my project. You would still be ahead even if you eventually had to buy a second unit. The only downside is that if you break a sanding belt (which happens often if you move the sander side to side while sanding) the unit can get hot enough to make you cautious about touching the metal when you replace the sanding belt.All-in-all my recommendation is that you purchase this unit at the low price if you think that there is a reasonable chance you may need a belt sander for your DIY projects.

Evaluation w/o use!
I usually use the items I buy before I offer my opinion; however I saw the request for evaluation so I’ll respond now. I bought this Tacklife belt sander based on a couple factors from owning another TL tool. I was impressed with several features & benefits from that tool that any other tools to consider adding or replacing in my workshop warranted strong consideration. I have recently retired and have nearly completed setting up my workshop to basically take care of home repairs for our 2 homes, build stuff I need or want and help out my adult children with their homes & projects. I don’t borrow tools or really like to lend out my tools, I expect my tools to be available for use when I need them. I have several other major top of the list tool lines, I don’t make my living with my tools any longer, but I still want tools I can rely on to not break down under normal use, or manufacturers that stand behind their products. Take care of your equipment; that equipment should last a good while. This is my 3rd TackLife power tool, probably will not be my last.

I like tacklife
Tacklife tools are always of good solid quality. This sander is no exception. It's powerful. I used it to sand away the table corners which are eye leveled, so my kid wont hurt himself running around. I also sand my door edge. Very easy to use. The dust collector works well too. I did it in my yard to i dont really care about dust. It comes with adapters. You can attach to the vaccum if you have a big job to do. The belt system is tight. No sliperage issue. Changing the belt is nothing but a few screws. Also comes with 13 belts. Good enough for me. When using indoor I consider its motor is loud. This is my first belt sander so i m not sure if this is normal. I m very happy because it's easy to use and good quality for my hobby works.

Steer clear
I received this about a week ago but was unable to use it until Good Friday. First raised eyebrow: it comes with a 2-pin plug. The other eyebrow: instructions are inadequate, with a numbered picture too small to read. Luckily we had a travel adapter for the plug so I tried it on sanding a new wooden table top. It's noisy, and not particularly effective, and as others have noted, the sanding belt wanders and frays one edge. The product description on Amazon does mention this, telling users to adjust the tracking with a screw at the bottom of the machine. No further instructions come with the sander, so it would be a matter of trial and error to fix a known problem that shouldn't be there. After a couple of slightly frayed sheets the belt jammed and had to be dug out with scissors; now I can't get a new belt to fit. Deciding I'd had enough, I then discovered that you have to return it yourself and try to claim the postage back. Wish me luck!Update: the cheapest return postage was £32.88. I was given a refund of £60.17, £50.17 for the sander and £10 towards postage. I contacted Amazon and was given a further refund of £22.88, so I am not out of pocket, but the whole experience was a waste of time.

Broke after 30 minutes
It was great for half an hour! As soon as I went to change the belt, the lever broke so now the sanding belt can’t be clamped into place. Amazon claim a replacement isn’t available, even though they are still for sale, but won’t arrange pick up for the return at a time when I’m home from work. Tacklife customer support haven’t responded to my email. I’m now stuck with a half finished project and a useless sander at 38 weeks pregnant 😠

Good for the price
Works well apart from the belt adjuster slipping causing the belt to easily move left an right. Other downside is the noise, it's very loud.
