I ordered this because I love loose leaf tea and haven't had a chance to try cistus yet. I did not order it for the health effects so I can't really speak to those, as far as I'm aware theres's no proof of tea being able to do any of these things.It's a very strong, distinct tea that's reminiscent of a hojicha, very wheaty. I do like it alone with a little sugar, but I also like a lot of super traditional teas ranging all the way from super smokey black teas to grassy greens and pungent pu-erhs.The flavor is pretty bitter and strong, but not unpleasant. I didn't mind it alone, but it wasn't fantastic so the next time I made it I added in some dried citrus, berries, and mint and it's so much better. Because it's a more traditional tea it's easy to layer it with stronger teas for a nicer cup.I've paired it with herbal and rooibos teas, keeping to the citrus area but some berries and even vanilla also pair fairly well, but I love grassy teas.ALSO - there are no instructions on the bag. This is steeped at 200-205 for 8-10 minutes, but I really love it at 205 for 8 minutes with a fruity rooibos with it.

This tea arrived in a nice large resealable pouch. Upon opening, the aroma reminded me of oregano. The size of the "loose leaf tea" is great, since it's all ground down to a fairly consistent size. The flavor after being brewed was subtle, yet slightly bitter. If you don't like bitter teas, then some sort of sweetener is a must.You get a lot of loose tea for the money. Would I buy it again? As of right now, I'd say no. But, by the time I finally use up the package, I may change my mind.
