This replacement remote is perfect. I have an old Samsung TV: I put in batteries and it worked right away, no programming needed. I almost got one that only lighted up 2 buttons, I'm glad I checked the other pics and got this one instead. Perfect for use in a dark room. This one lights up if you hit any button, and there's a "light on" button at the top. It stays on for a couple seconds after you stop pressing. Some reviews mention that the buttons are stiff. Yeah, because it's made well and is brand new. It's going to stand up to thousands of hits so a bit of stiffness out of the box is fine. After a day or so the buttons I use most feel like any other remote, so any stiffness is temporary. One way this one is better is that the original remote double-taps in Samsung TV Plus. I have 2 Samsung TVs, bought about 3 years apart, and both of them have the same problem. This remote hasn't double-tapped ONCE. So now I know it's not my fingers, it's the original remote causing the extra clicks. This one is great. Get it. Oh, and I spilled water on it the first day and it didn't die, so that's a plus too. I do wish the light was blue but otherwise it's perfect.

This works great with your tv and truly has NO PROGRAMMING for the basic parts of it. Some of the other buttons that are for TV apps like prime TV and others must need to be programmed because they don’t work, but I really wanted it so that I would have the ability to see all the buttons at night and it lights up great you can also turn off the light up part of it to save on battery, but it does turn off automatically after a few seconds, and when you touch it again, the lights would go on if you didn’t turn the switch off at the top. I was surprised that I wouldn’t have to program it all. I just put in the batteries and pointed at the TV and it was ready to go. I do think, however, it should’ve come with instructions on how to otherwise program the rest of it, but I’m sure you could find those instructions online or through the seller of this. It’s lightweight and works perfectly.

It’s better than using a flashlight in the bedroom but the button response still isn’t great you have to push it more than once very annoying.

Buttons do not work well. Press too soft, does nothing. Press too hard, double presses. Buttons get stuck under plastic if pressed at an angle. Buttons need to depress far into remote to work, which may be hard if using thumb. Product just seems cheap.

It paired and works but the backlight stopped working after a few months

This is just what we needed as we watch TV in the dark and can't see the remote keys when we need to pause or control volume. Great purchase. Highly recommend. Compatible with TV and seamless transition between remotes.

We have 11 Samsung TVs in our two homes. We love the product but have always hated the remotes for them. You can't use them in the dark unless you have a great memory for button arrangement. I always wished they would light up in the dark so you could see the buttons. Now that we have found this brand, we love them and find them easy to use, plus the best feature... they light up. I have ordered 4 of these over the past few months, and am slowly changing them all to the lite-up remotes. It's a great deal and worth the money.

Nice remote but the illumination feature is poorly executed. You have to push buttons verses have it it illuminate when you pick it up.

Bought it to replace Samsung remote that did not light up. Love the button configuration. Very similar to the actual Samsung remote. Backlight stopped working after 2 weeks. Very disappointing.

Although infinitely better than the stock non illuminated remotes that come with many samsung tvs, it is less than stellar when it comes to its illumination. When lit (in the dark) it is not very bright and the top and bottom rows are darker as the panel appears to be lit more centrally meaning the light tails off at the top and bottom. The fact it is illuminated in yellow rather than white also doesn't help. All that said, it does illuminate making it super useful in the dark when you need a button you rarely use and haven't built muscle memory for. Being able to see the direction arrows alone in the dark makes this a good buy for me. The remote itself is laid out identically to my samsung tv remote apart from the inclusion of the light button at the top row in the middle of the 3 buttons now there. The official samsung remote has only 2 buttons up top, so this remote adds the light button without losing a button on the remote. The button presses are awful though. Very spongey. Edit:- it lasted 3 weeks before it let me down and stopped working altogether. Still lit up but no longer responded to the buttons. Simply put, it wasn't worth the purchase
