Q: Hi, do these secateurs open very wide or are they OK for someone with small hands to use?

Hi, The handles do open quite wide. I have large hands and find them okay to use without straining or aching your hands and fingers. My partner has used them and she has smaller hands and can equally use them quite comfortably without any difficulty. The secateurs have a nice smooth cutting action making them easy and reasonably effortless to use.

Q: Will the spring keep its strength? My Spear and Jackson secateurs stopped springing open after a year or so.

I have only just purchased these secateurs, so can’t answer your question. However, I did read a lot of reviews before buying them and that persuaded me that they would be of an excellent quality and durability. Having used them several times, I feel confident I will be happy with them. Hope you find this to be the case with yours.

Q: Are replacement blades available

I stand to be corrected but I doubt replacement blades are available. It's not that much of a high-end product to my mind. At the price, I think it's a question of buying a new tool once the blades are worn out.
